析：enormous =very large in size or quantity = extremely large. 答案： B

P 1.2

析：题干关键词: OM differs from
      定位：定位原文第三四句话。 25 kilometers > 18  答案：C

P 1.3

析： distinctive 取与众不同之义 = characteristic 有特色的

P 1.4

析：信息题-逐一排除； A 定位第二段第二句话, 正确； B 定位第一段最后一句话，正确； C 定位第二段第三句话关键词“ similar to" D 明显错误，直接定位第一段最后一句话。” The three larfe volcanoes on the Tharsis bulge... a "mere" 18 kilometers high.

析：roughly 粗略地 = approximately 大概地

P 1.6

析：Why题。 找到逻辑上一层。 题干的支持句支撑的是第三段的第三句。 把第三句的关键词“ gravity" 和 "weight" &" height" 联系起来，即可找到正确选项：A

P 1.7

析：原句关键在于But后的句子：” but if ... active." 就可以找到原文中paraphrase最合适的选项： C

P 1.8

析：considerably 非常地 = significantly 显著地

P 1.9

析：题干关键词： demonstrated by the fact 即弹坑在火星上能更快填满，相比在月亮上， 这个事实说明了什么？ 往文章下看，就可以看到原因了。
定位原文第四段最后一句话： with Martian winds transporting. 故选：D

析：同上题。 题干出现象，定位原文第四段最后一句话， 找到现象的原因， 选项 C

析：题干关键词： 科学家能从现象中得到什么？ 定位原文第五段第二句话： rang from... southern highlands... youngest volcanic areas....  回到选项中：看到vary from area to area. 选项 B

P 1.12

析：题干关键词：找不同。 回到原文，第六段四五句描述了月球和火星的不同。重点看however后面： a liquid that has splahed or flowed out of the crater. 再回到选项：很明显， C

P 1.13

析：插入句子题： 句子过渡点： surface feature;speculation; lie under Mar's surface.  显然句子的后面要接这个 是什么speculation。 从文章的插入点来看，只有Geologists think是speculation, 因此也可以确定文章的位置应该在其之前。

P 1.14

析：SUM题（高亮部分是正确的） 这种类型的题目，遇错即停。 看下一行，以此节省时间。
      1.Plate motion 根据文章第二段第一句直接删除；
      2.Cannot yet reliably estimate the age 根据文章第五段第二句，删除；
      3....Similar to condition just below the surface og the Moon, 根据第六段四五句直接删除。

析：resurgence 再现 = comeback 复原

析：compulsorily 强制地 = by requirement 被要求地

析： 原因题，找逻辑上一层！定位第二段第二句” lost to direct trading". 直接选A选项。
P 2.18

析：Except题， 找到文中未提及的。 通过定位第二段第四句话& 第五句。排除ACD， 正确选项 B

P 2.19

析：outdated 过时的= old-fashioned

P 2.20

析：原因题， 找到逻辑上一层。  为什么造船越来越贵？ 因为-第三段第二句话： Timber went short, it was carried from farther. 答案：C

P 2.21

析：EXCEPT题， 找到错的即选： 定位第四段第三句话： Merchants complains ... first extended to... 也就是说扩大是不好的。 只有几个人控制 （等于D选项）才不会有complaint, 才会有好处。 因此D选项和题干中的contributing to the problems 是相反的， 故选择D.

P 2.22

析： 原句关键词 the shipbuilding... at the start of century, 强调重点是no longer had the capacity to recover， 和原文重点相符合的，只有选项B.

P 2.23

析：Conventional 常见的 = usual 通常的

P 2.24

析：Why 题； 回到逻辑上一层， 定位为什么会提到这个例子的论点句：第五段第一句“ replacing ... Ocean- caravan-eastern Mediterranean route to Venice."  故选项为A;

P 2.25

析：Infer题，定位原文第六段最后一句话” Venice's role... center for spices... decayed..." 故选项为B。

P 2.26

析：原因题， 关键词“spices decline" ， 定位第六段第二句 but the increase in quantity with both routes", 重点词”both routes", 故，选项为C.

P 2.27

析：插入句子题， 句子的过渡点： the increase in rewards; young people.  要找到一个衔接点，有increasing rewarding,只有最后一句“ sailors' wages doubled" 符合， 故选择这个位置。

P 2.28

析：SUM题 解题顺序：总览一次全文，记忆重要论点；  选项筛选，遇错就停。
     1. 整句话的论述与全文无关；
     2. ordinary people 是否付得起，文中未提；
     3. kept special privileges 与文中表述的逐渐落寞相反，删除。

析：EXCEPT题， 定位原文提到的点： 第一段第五句” the most similar to ancestral plants", 第一段第八句 “ used the same type of C... and accessory pigments in P..."  第十句 ” store food as starch" " have cell walls made of C..." 可排除ABC.  因此选项为D

P 3.31

析：
原文：been subjected to 这里的subject是动词， 意为： to make someone experience something unpleasant;
与之意义相同的只能是： exposed 可取n/v的意思： fail to protect someone or something from something harmful or dangerous.
易干扰选项A :restricted多指限制意义， 没有subject(v)和expose意义接近；
故，正确选项 C

P 3.32

析：Infer题， 直接定位原文第二句“ water ... or even to periods in which the aquatic habitat dries up"  故，选项应为A.

P 3.33

析： desolate 荒凉的 = deserted 沙漠一般的

P 3.34

析：原句重点 a land of opportunity = free of competitors and predators, also full of carbon dioxide and sunlight.  只要选项中没有漏掉这些重点词， 就是正确选项. 故选项为A

P 3.35

析：C.D易混淆。 答案定位原文第四段第二句 ： barren and desolate, inhospitable ot life.  
                       C排除： When plants first made transition more than 400 million years ago 不等于 it developed 400 million earlier.

P 3.36

析：Posed 出现 = presented 呈现
P 3.37

析：Except题 定位第五段第三句 的三点：structures that support the body, transport water and nurients, conserve water, 直接对应文章ACD。故选项为B。

P 3.38

析：段落作用题：直接概括段落大意。 先看该段首句 challenges 对应D选项的problem.  colonizing对应 pioneered, 故，正确选项为D.

P 3.39

析：定位第六段第四五句话的重点是successful和evolutionary， 所以文章重点在于they are able to develop. 选项为D

P 3.40

析：段落总结题：总览文章的后三段都是关于terrestrial environment，这一定是选项里不可缺少的词。 再回到原文中，只有B选项涉及了。

P 3.41

析：插入句子题：过渡点：chemical changes and a thicker exterior; overcome the conditions. 特指condition， 则前面句子中需要涉及到difficult condition. 因此只能在C,D中选。 而另一关键词chemical changes and a thicker exterior则说明前面句子中应有ancient algae的改变， 如此来，只能选择D.

P 3.42

析：
1. 内容为细节， 且后半部分difference in pigmentation未提；
2. in the history of Earth. 未提。
3. less diverse错误。 根据文章，应该是overcome challenges后更加多样化的生长。

PS: 所有同义词的= 只是根据原文意思约等，不是完全等于。

听力难点分析 (时间定位解题，暂时没有听力文本）

做完以后觉得Lecture 5 比较难。
重点介绍这个part。 如果版友有其他部分的问题，直接跟帖，我会尽快回复。


终于来了，这两天精力不足，正在准备考试。----

简单分析一下，Lecture 5 并没有完全听懂。But, 有些托福的听力就是这样，不需要完全听懂，够做题就行。
总结来说就是想要破解一种古文字H, 通过对R的发现，以及两个学者的努力，一个擦肩而过，一个成为破解者的5分钟演讲。

No.23   46S The finding of H are coming from the find by R Stone. + 两个学者
           可以看出，文章总述就是关于How to solve this puzzles.最沾边的是D

No.27   重复出现答案，两个学者都发现了这个线索：

文章在此（第二段和第三段的内容在写完后，做过修改）

The reading passage explores the function of ancient vessels, and the professor's lecture is also about the same topic. Whereas, she contends that the arguments in reading are not convincing and the vessels could be utilized as battery in old ages, which conflict with reading's content. And in the speech, the professor uses three compelling reasons to support her position.

First, the absence of metal wire mentioned in reading cannot be tenable proof. In the lecture, the professor claims that the vessels were discovered by local villagers, not archaeologists, when they excavated those ancient products, they had no awareness of careful observations. Therefore, those wires might be neglected and threw away, which means electric wires are supposed to exist before the discovery even though they were not found after experts came to the fields, which disproves its counterpart in reading passages.

Second, even though it is true that the copper cylinders are look similar like Seleucia's, the professor asserts that it cannot be the evidence to identify the function of those later vessels. The early vessels might be served as book scrolls at the beginning, but later some inventors realized the addition of iron and liquid can produce electricity, which means the original function was adopted by later generation, and this part is obviously overlooked by reading passage.

Third, the professor states that electricity could be useful for ancestors which weakens the argument made in reading. She points out that ancient people can use battery to prove the magic invisible power. The electric battery can produce slight current which could cause mind shock after people touched. Moreover, it can be the healing tool as well. When people feel painful, the shock of battery could release the feeling of ache.   

To sum up, the professor clearly pinpoints the weaknesses in the reading passages, and convincingly shows that the central argument in the reading, i.e., the function of vessel is not as electric battery, is specious.
