11.22Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The world is changing fast, people are less happy. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

We are now living in a rapidly changing world, suffering the shocking changes from both the material world and the spiritual world. Based on this fact, some people argue that people are not as happy as before. However, I can't stand with them in the same line.

Admittedly, a changing society brings us a lot of troubles. Once you get familiar with a new product, then the newer product comes out and you have to learn to use the new one. Most of your time will be spent to get used to a new product. However, the newer a product is, the easier it will be for people. Take iPad as an example. I clearly remembered when the first iPad came out, I learned how to use my fingers to do the multi-touch tasks quickly. Later, I could not live without iPad, which was more convenient and portable than traditional laptops. I spent hours talking with my friends through Face time when I’m upset. In a word, my life has become much more eudemonic with iPad. Only are the old-maidish people uncomfortable to the new products.

What’s more, learning to keep up with trends in the world make you feel like you are not old. The changes force us to accept them, some old people may think they suck, but the others who can accept them can feel refreshing. Many old people around the whole world devote themselves to learn to master some new technology such as using a cellphone or a computer. They can always enjoy the process to accept the new ideas since new things can make the old to feel like they are as young and dynamic as youth. Also they can find more topics when talking with their grandsons and granddaughters. People mark them with a term ‘the old fashioners’. An old lady living in my community is such a kind of people,  who benefit from her experience of learning English. After retired, she took part in many activities and started to learn English in a special university set for the old. Time was well spent and not only she, but also her neighbors felt refreshing. Therefore, she travelled to several countries herself at her sixties by using English.

Actually, changes, at most of the times, make us life easier so there is more eudemonia. We need to be more acceptable to them and so their benefits can show off.
