大概用了45分钟写的,中途没有查字典什么。只有400多一点字,写完后觉得用词就像托福作文。词汇提高和语句润色还做得差,求批求建议啊!!!

82) Colleges and universities should require their students to spend at least one semester studying in a foreign country.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the recommendation and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, describe specific circumstances in which adopting the recommendation would or would not be advantageous and explain how these examples shape your position.

Overseas learning experience appeals to lots of students these years. More universities and corporations consider it as an shining point when they select students or employees. But should it be a compulsory duty for college students to study aboard for at least one semester? My answer is definitely no.

Foreign exchange programs do offer students more opportunities to explore various cultural differences, varied education methods, unique life styles etc., which contributes to an more colorful and further understanding of the world. Making new friends, practicing foreign languages, adapting to totally unfamiliar environment, experience that you can never touch during regular daily learning, can help establish self-confidence and overcome shortcomings. There are lots of examples that when these exchange students, have finished overseas study, they improve themselves into a more social and mature people with growing competitiveness, compared with their peers. That is why exchange experience are highly recognized by the society.

However, things changes if there exists a ‘must’ in the recommendation. Different individuals’ situations differ a lot. When a so called ‘good method’ is adopted in a wrong senario, there won’t be an happy ending.

Choosing to learn in a foreign country instead of studying in your home institution creates an opportunity cost. The most critical part to make the right decision is whether the benefit you obtain can cover the cost you are going to suffer. For some students, heavier family pressure pushes them to study harder in order to change their future, which is quite common, especially in developing countries. Overseas learning means nothing but huge amount of money for them. Without any support, there is no chance for them to afford such expensive lessons. In the other hand, it is also possible that in some certain majors, the available foreign colleges cannot provide you a more worthy study than you already have but only a chance for entertainment. In this case, when you come back, catching up with others will be a big problem to tackle with. In both cases I have mentioned, the cost is much higher than what you can get. In this way, exchange learning aboard is not a appropriate choice.

As a conclusion, everything is  two-sided. Whether it is worthy to study aboard is differ from case to case. Universities and colleges should give recommendation and encourage students to study abroad with offering necessary financial assistance rather than require their students to do so.
