economics is very math and often requires real analysis. For better job placement, you can consider accounting, business/data analytics, ... finance is very competitive.
It is not that competitive for MS in business schools (though for Phd programs, it is competitive). However, finance also needs a lot of math and accounting is boring (at least I think it is), so, if you are not afraid of mathematics, you may apply to MS programs in finance or financial engineering. Also, there is a hot major in US right now which involves in a little bit of computer skills and knowledge in management, called the Management Information System (MIS). Which is said to have a lot of job opportunities (though I cannot justify this saying), you can try it.
Another suggestion in terms of which major (which involves in economics and management) you can choose involves in the MPA/MPP program, i.e. Management in Public Administration / Management in Public Policy. It is also a practical subject and is not competitive in terms of application. If you are interested in this program, you may check the following section of Gter.net.
For business school, English speaking is extremely important and you need pass those interviews for admission. It doesn't make sense to study business PhD unless you want to be a faculty in the future. I may be bias and I would not suggest you studying PhD. don't burn 青春 in school if you don't have passion for research. Accounting, finance, business analytics, .. requires interview and MIS doesn't need interview but it is more about programming for Chinese students. don't study master of management and those are almost useless for one without working experience. Most business applying students look for info from Chase Dream. Maybe can say a little bit more about your chance with more info of your backgrounds.
