OK，that's what I wanna say. Doing well in such a  minor may make the transcript look pretty good and this will be extremely the case when professors care more about those core courses.
However,almost all the Chinese applicants are not lucky enough to have this chance.

His double major in Econ is very bad too (I mean the GPA). The key element here is his paper.

Even you are the No. 1 in CCER's double program with a math background, your chances that get offers from top 20 are also very low.

to tell the truth, I cannot belive a undergraduate student(whether home or abroad) can publish a papers on his own. are you  sure his work was done indepently?

自认为学的还行啦，平时作业不错，但是考得不好也没用啊！（考试堆在了一起，凌乱了。。。）
人大暑课的rank不知道啊，木有问过，因为没有推荐信，知道也没用啊。

自认为学的还行啦，平时作业不错，但是考得不好也没用啊！ So you sucks your exam just because of making mistakes in calculation? Did the prof grade the exam? If both yes, then don't worry. the prof will explain your grade in the letters.

CEMFI有希望，我的G跟你一样。但是CEMFI现在每年收到100封来自中国的申请，我听教授说，他们很困惑，因为都一样，看不出差别。然后他们一轮一轮录的，也要讲运气。你多申几个类似项目撞撞运气，总有一个撞到的。目前为止，他们都是一个地区录一两个。近两年每年过来的中国人，背景也是diversified。这里学术水平很高，老师也会对学生很照顾，但找工作对中国人就不利了。然后课程比较严厉，一下没适应过来，表现不好的话，压力还是非常大的。

统计84，财政88，其他都是90-95.
对，博弈教授很nice地说会帮我在信解释一下的。但是卷子是助教改的，我猜教授没有看。

if you sucks your exam just because of making mistakes in calculation, then tell the prof your justifications. He/She may review your exam paper and write a more persuasive letter.
