Issue30“The primary goal of technological advancement should be to increase people’s efficiency so that everyone has more leisure time.”


    It is always fascinating to discuss the functions or goals of technological advancement. Because the development of science and technology is close relate to our life. I basically agree with the writer’s argument about the goal of technological advancement. But I would like to add some personal viewpoints.
  
     Indeed, our realistic life is changing while the technology is developing. And we do have more leisure to enjoy such relax life which is created by science. Mankind can begin to think about their life but not struggle with the nature just for survival. For instance, we have more time accompany with our family and arrange the journey with them instead of sitting in the office and in deal with the complicated files, because compute change the working and living rhythm. And at the same time, most of the scientist’s primary goal is to increase the efficiency and create more convenience. In a word, the technological advancement free people form the primitive bondage to nature; increase our efficiency; create a kind of new life and thinking mode; give people more leisure and more chance to realize this world.
  
        Though the science and technology we acquire both of greater leisure and of even greater material and intellectual riches. Though the technology we are changing our environment in a positive way. If the primary goal of developing the technology is not to change human’s life to a better phase but only seek personal behalf. If the development of science is not to serve for peace but become a kind of weapon to conquer other countries. What will the world be? Perhaps we would discover the soul of the technology after someone who utterly destroy the world and human restart from the primitive society. Of course the above suppose seems be exaggerated. But we should understand that the soul of the science and technology is to push the society advance not to stop the development of human beings.
  
        And at the same time, we can’t neglect the other goals of the technology. Such as give people more choices, help man discovery new fields and add to our both physical and intellectual mobility. All this functions are also increasing our life’s quality and changing the environment. Along with the development of society, some of above goals would be instead of the goal of the writer’s and become to the primary one.
  
          In sum, to increase the efficiency and promise more leisure to people is the primary goal at this time, but we cannot neglect other goals. And also, we should avoid to use our technology to destroy our life and keep the technology in a peace and development stage. Only under such condition, we can achieve the goal at last.

Of course the above suppose seems be exaggerated.（这绝对不是科技的目的，没有任何一个科学家会想这样做，这个反例举得不好）But we should understand that the soul of the science and technology is to push the society advance（push后面好像应该跟动名词） not to stop the development of human beings.

没有主题句阿，而且几个并列举之间为什么不用逗号相连，反而用句号断开呢？论据不充分，应该增加一些科技使人类进步的实证。医药，交通，教育，什么的。

And at the same time, we can’t neglect the other goals of the technology. Such as give people more choices,(?就业机会嘛？单单说choice不好) help man discovery（discover） new fields （医药领域吗）and add to our both physical and intellectual mobility(此话怎讲？). All this（these）functions are also increasing our life’s quality and changing the environment（你所说的这些功能里面没有一样是可以改变环境的）. Along with the development of society, some of above goals（上面没有说到所谓的goal啊） would be instead of （这个是副词短语，用replace 或者substitute for）the goal of the writer’s(都用了of还要用’s啊) and become to the primary one.（这句话说得实在是不清楚）
科技的其他目的， 没有明显的论证方法

In sum, to increase the efficiency and promise more leisure to people is the primary goal at this time, but we cannot neglect other goals. And also, we should avoid to use （using）our technology to destroy our life and keep the technology in a peace and development stage. Only under such condition, we can achieve the goal at last.
