莫非也是做structural么？不知道都发什么journal呢？似乎没怎么在Marketing的journal上读过food marketing的paper。

我们有个food economics的workshop，不幸的是我也上过，呵呵:victory:
主要讲journal of marketing research上面的文章，偶尔也讲AJAE，或者RES上面的文章。

太多了啊，我不做这个领域，但是你可以关注一下以下方向:
1. BLP model以及所有的相关应用；
2. Food labeling;
3. couponing;
4. national brand v.s. store brand;
5. spatial competition in food prices;
6. Walmart Effect;

大部分都是比较structural的，因为用的基本都是IO的方法啊。
另外现在很多人也开始做nutrition相关的food economics了，这个和marketing不太一样。研究食品经济最active要算UConn了，你可以关注一下。

发的杂志还是以Ag Econ的杂志为主，主要是为了吸引policy maker的注意力，这样好拿funding啊。偶尔也会投IO的杂志。

看来这些topic大部分都是很典型的marketing也做的东西。是不是比marketing做的更specific一点啊？marketing搞这些就老是整些detergent、potato chips、cereal之类的，这些现在做的人少了。
发agecon的journal难怪我没怎么见过。
anyway不歪楼了。

The major difference is the difference between empirics and theory.
Our strength is that we have sufficient research funding and a long term partner relationship with ERS at USDA, also we have a good friendship with Hershey Corporation. The strength at Econ department is the theory all the time, now Mark Roberts is the leader in IO area after Vuong and his wife left to NYU.

Good background, if you can get strong letters I think you have a shot for at least top 50. But I still think this year is even tougher than before, there are many Chinese with US background will apply including me. Anyway good luck.

就我的经验来看，marketing并没有比econ难申。你这个背景，去top20甚至top10的商学院也不是没有可能。如果是我的话可能会选几个top10的，几个top20的，加一些top20-50的。

是的呀，08的，不过我宅着很少出来蹦跶，估计没在院里碰见过吧。学长求指点啊~有没有哪几家的项目对我们学校比较有偏好的啊？Econ和Marketing都行啊~

那我就不知道了。不过如果你微观、计量、IO都没问题的话，marketing的人还是会挺喜欢的。申marketing的人很多也没有那么多经济方面的背景

同一把泪，美帝大部分phd项目都这个节奏了。再申的话别econ一条树上吊死了，businees家转专业可以使考虑考虑，marketing phd之类，或者名校水master回国找工作。
