issue28(离考试只有最后10天了~~~~~~)

28"Students should memorize facts only after they have studied the ideas, trends, and concepts that help explain those facts. Students who have learned only facts have learned very little."

The speaker asserts that studying relevant ideas, trends and concepts of facts would be an effective way of learning knowledge. I fundamentally agree with the statement, moreover taking facts into practice would help students to master knowledge substantially.

On the one hand, facts are not merely some words or images but a process of accumulating information, and if a student only memorizes facts on books without any relevant explanation, the knowledge would be too abstract and vague to understand. Obviously, any phenomena or theory have own reason, development and effects. Taking study of history as an example. When students learn the War of Independence, it is hard to understand such fact only by memorizing the time, place and consequence for the reason that students might feel confusion about the fuse of the fact and the process of war, especially the meaning of the results. To better understand the history, teacher should help them to learn pertinent ideas, the past life and the relationship of recent life in America. By learning those knowledge, the fact have been mastered and in-depth understood rather than stop in the surface of books. Considering the complex and abstract facts, learning the ideas, trend and concepts would be an efficient way of absorbing knowledge.

On the other hand, the purpose of education is not only to memorize facts on books but also change facts into individual knowledge and help students think critically. If students accept facts passively and fail to learn any other information, the facts are only trashes in the mind and can be forgot immediately rather than change into own knowledge. Additionally, any person, even famous people would provide unwarranted theories or mistaken facts what might distort the facts, such as the egocentric in the past so that student should learn ideas, phenomena and data to explain the facts, and if the theory has flaws or problematic assumption, students must absorb information selectively and question the facts, otherwise students would be misled in learning and facts would never be modified. Consequently, to better master the facts and question views, students must learn other relevant information.

Moreover, another way of understanding facts is to put the theories into practice in order to strengthen the understanding and verify the value. Actually, learning facts, ideas and explanation is a dull process, especially in some subjects, such as natural science and business. When students learn phenomena of physics and chemistry, taking experiment would be an essential way for gaining clear consequences, or students might feel confused about phenomena, such as gravity and various chemical reaction. At the level of business, take accounting as an example. Generally speaking, students would be required to make record of their expenditure and income as an experiment which can help them understand the concept of accounting and the basic method. After putting theory or facts into practice, students master the knowledge well without memorizing sentence in the books.

Understandably, lacking relevant ideas, trends and concepts, students feel difficulty to understand facts, not to mention master knowledge or question views, so that education must pay more attention to teaching relevant information rather than sheer facts. Moreover, to better absorb the facts, students should learn to put facts into practices and change information into individual ability.

妇女节哦,谢谢修改,你现在怎么样了,特别是打算以后十天怎么安排啊?

(好像开头太简单了啊,偶也常这样写,不过都被告诉说最好有点背景介绍).老师吗?我觉得开头还是简单点的好,摆出自己观点就好了,多了的话实在觉得后面时间来不及啊
. Actually, learning facts, ideas and explanation(感觉这几个词反复在里面出现好像看着不太爽了^_^) 说实在,我对这三个词实在不知道用什么东西概括,请指教

哦,偶是3月5号的,比你还早几天,现在更是急得不得了了
偶就是时间来不急,前面介绍背景是大牛们给我说的,不过确实,没有时间还是要简短,这点上我赞同你吧,因为我的时间确实是来不急。现在我也不知道怎么准备,尽量缩短自己的时间就是了吧。
那三个词怎么替代我也说不好^_^

对body的第三段表示一点疑问哈~
有点practice makes progress的意思哦~~~
这个和题目中间的facts ideas theories那些好象隔的有点远吧~
用一整段的笔墨 是不是有点喧宾夺主?!

因为东方老师对不少题目的理解认为可以从另外的角度下手
记得要到艺术的说什么反映社会隐藏的什么东西
老师说一正一负,负就写其他方面也可以反映社会,事实上文中也没有提到的啊
我说不清楚了,但是感觉上不少文章可以这样来个分支,还有就是这个题目中有个only,所以我展开了
我也是一家之言,呵呵
