项目概况
ISS授予的硕士学位叫做Master of Technology,下设两个specialization，分别为 software engineering 和 knowledge engineering。基本申请条件是本科背景是理工科，雅思6.0，托福85，相关工作经验有加分。
特别的是这个项目有一个Graduate Diploma in Systems Analysis的学位。比较特殊，新加坡教育体制和中国的不同，走的是英国式的体系。在这个体系里面，Graduate Diploma是一个bachelor和master之间的角色，主要针对跨专业人士设计。毕竟硕士项目一般不会接受跨度很大的转专业申请者，除非有很多年的IT领域的实际工作经验，实习啥的可不能算哦。
回归到这个Graduate Diploma，入学条件比较宽广，可以说，几乎所有专业背景的申请者都有机会被录取。但是基本的语言，GPA什么的还是要达到基本要求的。
不过有一个比较实际的问题，在中国的教育体系中不存在Graduate Diploma这个学位，所以很不幸它是不被认可的；但是，这个文凭中国教育部是认可的，一方面这是NUS颁发的文凭，另一方面这个项目授课时间也有13个月，达到了一年。
不过话说回来，对于那些渴望转专业到IT并且志在四方的同学来说，Graduate Diploma又何尝不是一个好选择。毕竟在国际上Graduate Diploma的认可度还是可以的，工作多年以后，即使要回国发展，那时候如果具备了相当的工作经验，也是能够得到认同的。留新发展的话diploma也是能得到认可的。这个Graduate Diploma已经做了35届，很多IT公司的老板其实都是这个项目出来的。

下面就分几个部分来介绍一下ISS，如果没有特别说，讨论的就是硕士项目啦。

录取流程
第一轮、材料审核
学院招生负责人们会全面评估每个申请者的背景，根据各个方面的表现综合评定。大家比较关心的211&985问题，负责人坦承，对于申请人来说，有无211&985背景只是一个参考，其他考量的因素还有工作经验，竞赛获奖语言成绩以及本科专业背景，如果能在这些方面有比较优秀的表现，一样能让你从第一轮中脱颖而出。
第二轮、笔试面试
事实上，在决定最后的录取人之前，学院会举行一轮笔试和一轮面试。笔试一般在国内举行，面试主要用skype，都不必申请者前往新加坡。负责人介绍到，因为没有要求申请者提供GRE成绩，所以举行一轮笔试。（负责人的原话，大家有没有觉得有点暗示GRE和笔试的联系呢？还是我想多了，哈哈哈哈~）笔试的内容主要是专业知识，考一个小时，都是选择题，样卷的话可以在ISS的主页搜索到的~有兴趣的同学可以找一找；
笔试通过之后，就会通知准备面试咯。而面试则主要会侧重每个申请人的履历提出各种不同的问题。比如如果简历中有提到过工作经验，那么面试时候就非常有可能需要你介绍一下你的工作经验，具体到参与了那些项目发挥了什么作用。所以大家准备常见面试问题的同时，也要针对自己的履历，做一个充分的准备！
而对于Graduate Diploma的申请者也是会安排笔试，但是不会考察专业知识，是一个性向测验的形式，100题，有考察语言、数学、逻辑分析等等。如果实在要准备的话，可以看看非常基础的编程书，如果能够读下去很有兴趣，其实就可以了。

工作经验
这是个好话题。很多NUS、NTU的项目是wp preference的，对于国内的应届生来说，真的很头大。不过大家有木有考虑过为什么会有这样的一条呢？下面摘录一下负责人的答疑解惑。
ISS其实是一个非常侧重于实务的项目。不管是课程的设计还是老师的筛选，都力图把学生们培养成未来的CTO、CIO。所以这个项目根本就没有Phd，系里有六位老师在任教之前有过CTO或者CIO的经历。基于这样的考虑，在招收学生时，如果一个学生在相关领域工作了几年，那么他就会对这个领域有比较实际的认识，对未来职业发展有一定的期许，比起新手的应届毕业生，硕士项目似乎更能够帮助这样的申请人。但是这并不意味着应届毕业生会有多么的劣势，至少一个高GPA证明自己的学习能力足矣。

关于实习
这是ISS的亮点，因为不论是master还是Graduate Diploma，两个项目的学生都有机会进入IT公司实习，而且规定必须完成相应的实习才能毕业。
不同的是，Master是3个月part-time，4个月full-time的实习，Graduate Diploma有5个月学校安排的全职实习。学校会向新加坡的IT公司发出邀请函，有意向的公司会回复，NUS会先筛选这些公司，如果有合适的公司，学院会把学生派出去实习，很有机会学到新的东西。而且只要认真学习，达到比较基本的成绩标准，每个人都会有实习机会。
相比可以压缩到一年毕业的其他硕士项目，ISS的这两个项目的学习时间稍微长一点啊，Master一共3个学期，最短一年半毕业，Graduate Diploma需要13个月的时间毕业。但是考虑到中间很长的实习时间，会是很充实的经历。
实习往往也是IT公司考察你是否适合成为正式员工的重要环节。另外，ISS学院有一个career service manager，如果有公司需要人才，会通过这个渠道向学生提供资讯，这些的职位是只向ISS的学生开放的。

关于学习
有别于其他的master项目，ISS上课时间一般在白天和周六，课程比较偏重实用性。在学习中会经常遇到case study, group work, project work等等，考试也很多都是open book.
每年大概招生规模100人左右，其中master项目大概70人左右。结合上面提到的相当长时间的实习，这个项目本身的负担是很重的，需要学生有非常大的兴趣以及非常认真的学习态度。对于master来说，一个学期只有一周的休息时间。
某知情在读master表示，这个项目学得非常值，几乎每天晚上都要学习到11点。

另：ISS项目也是可以申请三年工作协议和助学贷款的。

❀过往关于国大ISS项目的FAQ❀

Q1：ISS是有学位认证的么？为什么看到很多人说ISS是中介用来忽悠人的？ISS适合什么背景的人申请？
A1：Graduate Diploma in Systems Analysis is a 13-month program. It's certified by China Ministry of Education. But, it's not a master degree. If you are interested in IT with a bachelor degree in any major, you are welcome to apply. Most students choose this program because of it's practical and hands-on. In the last 5 months, the school will arrange internship in Singapore.The master degree is more advanced level, so the applicants will be tested on technical area. The students are from relevant majors. It's a 18-month program.

Q2：只有计算机方面的专业啊?
A2：Yes, our majors are IT related.

Q3：这个研究生文凭是为了本科非计算机的人转专业用的吗?
A3：Every year, we have students who have computer science background applied Graduate Diploma in System Analysis which is a program preparing the students for job placements or advancing their study to master degree. The program has a 5-month internship program which attracts students who look for practical experience for their future job searching. Some students use the graduate diploma qualification for applying the master program in good universities.

Q4：请问software engineering 和 knowledge engineering在新加坡的就业前景怎样呢？2014年的申请时间是什么时候？
A4：Software Enginieering is for students who have at least 2 years of working experience in IT. If you're a fresh graduate w/o any work experience, you will need to have very good grades, good internship project and other project experiences. Knowledge Engineering is in between of Enterprise Business Analytics and Software Engineering. It's open for fresh graduates who have strong computer science background. Both graduates are well received in the industry. The next intake is January 2015. The online application will be open later. We will announce it once it's ready.

Q5：Is there any financial support from studentship or internship for these two programs?
A5：For applying Master of Software Engineering, Knowledge Engineering or Graduate Diploma in System Analysis, the international students can apply for（- Service obligation from Singapore Ministry of Education: support up to 40% of tuition if the student will work in any registered company in Singapore for 3 years. - Interests free tuition loan: the maximum loan is 90% of the tuition fees payable by Singapore Citizens）When students are doing a full-time internship, they will receive allowance from the internship company.

Q6：为什么我在网申系统里发现ISS下只有一个项目可以申请，而没有Software Engineering (SE), Knowledge Engineering (KE)?
A6：Sorry, the online application for Master program of 2015 January intake is not open, yet. That's why you couldn't see it. It will be ready much later. Once it's up, we will announce it.

Q7：我本科是非计算机专业，但是有1.5年工作经验，非211。Graduate diploma可以转MASTER?
A7：Yes, after graduating from graduate diploma, you can apply master program. Since your background isn't from computer science, it's very important that you must have passion in IT in order to sustain yourself through out the program. It's rewarding, but very intensive during the study.

Q8：我本科是985的生物专业，雅思6.5，GPA80左右，有一年多的非计算机相关工作经验。鉴于高中曾拿过计算机竞赛的全国一等奖和对本专业不感兴趣，想要转读ISS的diploma，已经提交秋季入学的申请。请问我这种情况拿到考试资格的概率大么?以及什么时候可以出来考试通知（面试地点填的广州）?
A8：I think it shouldn't be a problem for you to pass the entrance test. I believe you're strong in maths and logics. One of our lecturers will be attending an exhibition in Guangzhou on Mar 16. Will you like to meet her? We will announce the time and venue soon.

Q9：那边上课应该都是用英文，那平时交流呢:?
A9：Yes, English is the main language used in the school. The only chance you can speak Chinese in the school is communicating with other students from China. But, currently, China students aren't the majority in our programs.

Q10：系统分析研究生专业毕业后就业前景?
A10： If you're good in programming and have a good communication in English, the job opportunity is good.

Q11：研究生文凭毕业后先就业再业余读硕士学位与毕业后继续就读本院的硕士学位，哪个性价比好?
A11：If you are from computer science with good academic results and hand-on experiences, studying master might be a better options. If you don' t have plan to get a master degree in a short term or don't know your area of interests, graduate diploma might be a better option. For the students who wish to self-support their study, they would choose graduate diploma, too.

Q12：研究生文凭与硕士学位，哪个对PR申请有利，需要多长时间?
A12：Both graduate diploma and master programs are in the graduate study programs. The difference is not big. In order to apply, PR, you will need to demonstrate your skills are in demand. Therefore, you will need to work in Singapore for a couple of years.
