Issue 74
The most effective way to communicate an idea or value to large groups of people is through the use of images, not language.

With the development of globalization, communication becomes more important than ever, since people from different countries and cultures want to understand each other deeper. Among various approaches, expressing ideas or values to other people, such as languages, gestures and images. Image, other than language, is the most effective medium to transmit ideas.

On the one hand, images, comparing with languages, could communicate ideas or values more directly and easily. Information conveyed by images is so straight that it could be assimilated by the brain without any process. However, information, transmitted by languages, should be concreted firstly, and then accepted by transforming it to some images. Information could be assimilated by the brain through this process, which we usually called decoding and recoding. This process is inevitable to be limited by one’s comprehension capability and background knowledge, which is the reason why different people have different comprehensions for one idea through language, even sometimes feel perplexed only through languages. The economic theories could illustrate it clearly. Many theories, especially theories developed in recent years, often give some graphs after a long description of language, which could make the description more clearly. I still had a deep impression about the situation of the first time when I contacted with the IS-LM model, a model as an expansion of Keynesianism in macroeconomics. I did not understand it until the teacher utilized four graphs systematically linking the monetary market with the merchandise market together, while the explanation about this relationship is long and confused.

On the other hand, many intentions are so abstract that they are easier to be reflected through images, not languages. Take personal feelings as an example. As we know, feelings are the behaviors engendered from one’s heart. They are too intricate and changeable to be depicted or expressed through language, as a Chinese proverb says that one could only perceive them by hearts, not express by languages. In 1930’s, a German esthetician did an aesthetical analysis about movies which are the representation of images and drawn a conclusion that movies could revealed more inenarrable feelings, called unconsciousness visions. For instance, images in films, especially expressed by the close-up, could spread many meticulous actions and feelings related with interior sensation explicitly. Therefore, images could be more inclined to susceptibility in transmitting ideas or values, other than languages, which have limitations to the cultures and experiences of acceptors.

What is more, a peculiar character of images is cosmopolitan, which could be accepted by all people no matter the languages, cultures, and comprehensive capacities. As we know, there is no limitation for work of art, such as paintings, prevalence at every place in the world. While literatures, should be well translated to other languages before being published in other countries which have different language. There is a famous advertisement in China called “big eyes”, whose purpose is to encourage people to help children who are unable to go to school. This advertisement brings on resonance not only in China, but also in other countries. Why? The image is a girl expressing hope on studying through her big eyes, which could shake one’s heart no matter whether one could understand Chinese in the advertisement. After this advertisement published, the Chinese government received many donations from all over the world.

To sum up, images could communicate more effective than languages, because not only it is an approach to express one’s ideas or values directly and clearly, but also it could transmit which is difficult to transmitted by language due to various reasons.  (587 words)

With the development of globalization, communication becomes more important than ever, since people from different countries and cultures want to what about “are eager to” understand each other deeper. Among various approaches, expressing ideas or values to other people, such as languages, gestures and images. there is something wrong with this sentence---lack a verb?Image, other than language, is the most effective medium to transmit ideas.

On the one hand I have no idea whether the "the" is necessary......, images, comparing  compared?  with languages, could communicate express ideas or values more directly and easily. Information conveyed by images is so straight that it could be assimilated by the brain without any process maybe you mean that with less complicated process. However, information, transmitted by languages, should be concreted firstly, and then accepted by transforming it to some images. Information could be assimilated by the omit the brain through this process, which we usually called decoding and recoding. This process is inevitable to be limited by one’s comprehension capability and background knowledge I think you mean that the efficiency of the process is limited rather than the process, which is the reason why different people have different comprehensions for one idea through language, even sometimes feel perplexed only through languages. The 泛指? economic theories could illustrate it clearly. Many theories, especially theories developed in recent years, often give It is not the theory give the graph, but the book or the autor^^chang the “give” by “need” some graphs after a long description of language, which could make the description more clearly. I still had a deep impression about the situation of the first time when I contacted with the IS-LM model, a model as an expansion of Keynesianism in macroeconomics. I did not understand it until the teacher utilized four graphs systematically linking the monetary market with the merchandise market together, while the explanation about this relationship is long and confused. you mean that the when compared with four graphs, the description is long? I have a feeling that the example of BODY1 is not suitable for the TS,

On the other hand, many intentions are so abstract that they are easier to be reflected through images, not languages. Take personal feelings as an example. Therefore, images could be more inclined to susceptibility in transmitting ideas or values, other than languages, which have limitations to the cultures and experiences of acceptors. @_@so complicated... I find hard to make it out…

What is more, a peculiar character of images is cosmopolitan, which could be accepted by all people no matter the languages, cultures, and comprehensive capacities. As we know, there is no limitation for work of art, such as paintings, prevalence at every place in the world in every part of the world.

另外,开头为什么用on the other hand?
