一、应该为个人利益进行科学研究
1、人们关注的更多是过程,而非结果,而使人们在研究过程中坚持下去的,是对个人兴趣的追求,它可以极大激发人们的创造力。人们为了个人原因不断探索自己感兴趣的领域，最终会取得成功。例子：陈景润
2、个人组成整体，如果每个人都为自身努力追求，最终的结果是造福全人类。如果是为了public，人们可能会放弃自己原来的兴趣，因为可能他们的兴趣所在恰恰好象对社会没有什么用处。然而，可能正是这些领域具有重大价值，虽然对社会没有直接的作用，却可以启发其他新的发现，或者间接推动技术的进步。举例：管理理论的丛林（发现这个例子好象不能很好的证明论点，所以没有用上）
二、不能忽略public good
一味追求个人兴趣而置public good于不顾甚至损害之，则他们的成功是毫无意义的。是否能被社会承认，关键是看它是否为社会进步和人类的发展作出贡献。例子：二战中一些化学家研究生化武器。

Do people who pursue their own intellectual interests for purely personal reasons make greater contributions to the society than those who act for the public goods, just as the speaker asserts? I fundamentally agree with this statement with some reservation, and I would like to give my evidences to demonstrate it as follows.

First of all, it is more significant to pursue personal intellectual interests in the long run for almost any achievements. As we know, process is of greater importance than result    (好像没什么根据？？这句就可以写一篇ISSUE了，如果用它支持你论点好像不行，说兴趣是最好的老师不就OK了)   ,  as only process itself can be made under control, rather than the result. In addition, pursuing personal intellectual interests can stimulate people to concentrate on the issues investigated and encourage them not to give up until success. Take Chen Jingrun,（应该是Jingrun Chen 吧？？？）one of the greatest experts in mathematics in the contemporary scientific history of China, for example. He was enthusiastic about the beauty of mathematics, and devoted most of his time and energy to prove the abstruse hypothesis. What maintained his persistence was probably the immense interest in　numbers, not the purpose of serving the public. Without such a fantastic devotion to mathematics, he may not be able to achieve success of proving "1+2", which enhanced the scientific level of our country and benefited the public good.

The second aspect I would like to point out is that the society would surely benefit a lot due to all varieties of personal efforts, just for individual interests. If more people made their efforts in perspective scientific fields just due to personal reasons, it would turn out a glorious future for our society as a whole in the end. Imagine an individual who is interested in something which may not benefit the rest of the world directly or immediately. To act for the public good, he/she may probably have to give up his interest; as such a process may be meaningless. However, such interests may lead to meaningful achievements which enlighten inspirations of other experts, or advance the scientific techniques indirectly. To conclude, if each individual makes efforts for purely personal reasons without considering the direct effects on the public good, it is more likely for personal efforts to contribute to the well being of the rest of the world.（这段写的有点散，直接说个人兴趣会造福其他人效果可能会好一些。）

Admittedly, in spite of the importance of pursuing individual intellectual interests, the public good ought not to be neglected at any time. Public good should be placed before any individual achievements after all; otherwise the individual success takes no sense, which is not cherished by the society. The evil deed of chemical scientists in the World War II is a case in point. They simply tried hard to invent chemical weapons to destroy the soldiers of enemy army, without taking so many innocent lives into consideration. Consequently, their efforts for personal interests in chemistry only brought war, starvation, and death to the rest of the world, not beneficial influences at all. To avoid the occurrence of such cases, people should not risk damaging the public good for any reason.

To sum up, without ruining the public good, it is the pursuing of people's own intellectual interests for personal reasons that are more likely to benefit the rest of the world.

思路很清晰，只是在写的时候，注意一下，句与句间的关系就OK了。
还有既然会写A了，检查的时候就要看看那有逻辑错误，因为是议论文么！

我写的时候，是这么考虑的：人们在自己的兴趣驱使下作研究（..

我的想法是：

从兴趣出发，会让人更有激情和动力来从事自己的事业，无形中会发挥更大的个人作用，创造出更大的社会价值。同时，不仅要有兴趣，还要有毅力。许多成功的例子绝不是单凭一个兴趣就达到后来的造诣，而是经过了不断的学习和挫折之后才完成这个提升的过程。

另一方面，社会的需求是多元化的，这就对人们有了一个要求：不能单从自己的兴趣出发，而不考虑整个社会的容纳能力。某一方面的人才过多，不但会给社会造成很大的压力，也会影响自己实现个人价值和个人追求。例子很多的，比如IT行业人才过多。

第三点，当然就是老套路了，呵呵，两者要很好的结合，取得平衡，才能blablabla……

其实，作为个人利益和公众利益，也是可以包含在里面的，创造出来的社会价值就有利于公众利益的实现，而满足个人兴趣，也可以说是一种个人利益的满足。不过两种理解最好不要写在一起，不然会显得有点混乱。
