Such nonmanstream areas of inquiry as astrology, fortune-telling and so on have long been existent in human history, and did give people a sense of security or reassurance in many fields. However, as far as I am concerned, as the society advances forwards and the accumulation of real knowledge accrues, such nonmainstream areas will be replaced by science, sooner or later.

In the first place, in the past, nonmainstream areas of inquiry did play a significant role in people's life. Without enough knowledge about their living environment, people were less able to master their own life than we are today. Being helpless in their lives, especially when they are inflicted with some natural catastrophes or serious diseases, they would resort to astrology, fortune-telling and psychic, which is called nonmainstream areas in modern world, to seek a sense of certainty or
courage, a way to help them out of the dilemma, or a cure for their illness. Though the ways they get from the astrologist or fortune-teller may not be of true use, they can indeed find themselves at least a kind of reassurance or relief, which could encourage them to face what they are confronted with now or in the future.

In the second place, however, with the development of the society, such nonmainstream areas are gradually supplanted by science, which can exactly explain and effective solve what confused and disturbed people. We can see this trend in many fields. For example, people in the past always resort to the sorceress for some panacea to cure their diseases, which has been proved to be of no effect now, however, with the progress of the biology, medicine and pharmaceutical industry, people become not only able to find the real reason for their diseases, but also able to produce in mass the exact medicine that can effective cure our illness(问一下这句话第二个but also 后面还用加able吗？) . Owing to such progress, few people will believe the sorceress’ strange dance and seemingly normal panacea any longer, which used to be claimed as being able to dispel the evil from the sick body. In addition, in many other fields, such as the biology and astronomy, people also begin to see them in a more scientific way.

Finally, what’s worse, some of the remaining nonmainstream areas in the current society exert more negative effects than positive ones on the society. Due to the unbalanced development in the world and even in the country, some people with low or none education background still believe in nonmainstream area, such as fortune-telling and sorcery, which has long been proved to be ineffective. In China, some illiterate people blindly believe what the fortune-tellers say, and then make some irrational actions; some of them even commit suicide for the purpose to go to the heaven. Many people even refuse to take effective medicine but obstinately stick to the ways sorceress has told them, thus their treatments of illness were delayed and some of them even lose their lives.  

To sum up, I partly agree with the author. Through the discussion mentioned above, we can easily reach the conclusion that nonmainstream area do have their merits in the history of human; however, considering the trend of scientific development and the negative effect imposed by nonmainstream area in nowadays world, they should be and will be replaced by the real knowledge, I mean, science.

In the first place, in the past, nonmainstream areas of inquiry did play a significant role in people's life. Without enough knowledge about their living environment, people were less able to master their own life than we are today. 真的吗？我觉得文章的观点是完全的disagree，题目的意思是nonmainstream学科如今还占有重要的地位，而你论述的是：他们迟早要被科学所取代，虽然他们曾经在过去起过一些作用。首先主要的态度是反对原命题，其次我觉得也没有partly，因为过去起过一些作用，并没有肯定原命题呀？

文章思路很清晰，这个题目挺难写的，我还没写过。
有个建议:最后一个段落只是指出了一种现象，如果再捎带提议下解决办法，如教育等，是不是更好哪？

每个段落的首句都用插入语，是不是太....了？
有些时态错误和形容词修饰动词的错误，限时写的时候可能不能兼顾吧

总之写得不错。前面胡言乱语一番，我也没有斑竹的水平可以给你打分，咳咳，不对的地方希望指出。
