The goal of politics should not be the pursuit of an idea, but rather the search for common ground and reasonable consensus.

Who is the politics serving for? What is the goal of politics? In the final analysis, politics is serving for people, and its goal is to pursuit of an idea which represent the advantage of most people. During that pursuit period, searching for common ground and reasonable consensus is needed. So we can say that the pursuit of an idea and the search for common ground and reasonable consensus are not contradicted with each other.

Under an autarchy, the idea of pursuing democracy is a goal of politics, and synchronously, it is accord with common ground and reasonable consensus. Even when we trace the idea, we will find that the idea always generate from some people's views about the politics and society. In fact, it is abstracted and sublimed from these common ground and reasonable consensus, So that we needn't question the coherence of the idea and the consensus. Abraham Lincoln mentioned the political goal of his government in his famous Gettysburg Address: to establish a country of the people, for the people, and by the people. though the time passing many yeas, the idea also accurately expresses common ground and reasonable consensus in America.

We should distinguish the goal of real politician and Utopia. The idea of a real politician  examined by real life and praxis, is a feasible precept when the politician comes into power. But the idea of Utopia is limited as only an idea in despite of it reflects numerous people's views, because the rationality is not certain. Can we living a life like what is pictured in Utopia? Will the class differences eliminate rapidly in future? The idea of the chimerical novelist is far away from the reality, although it is from people.

What a pity that in the history, there were examples which showed extreme autarchy, such as German in the second world war. As the absolute autocrat in German, Hitler prohibited all of other believes and democratic suggestions, he made the most cruel butcher in the human's history. At these dark days, the goal of politics was distorted as the goal of an autocrat. In fact, it is the embodiment of a politician's ambition, no longer a real goal of politics, nothing of common ground and reasonable consensus. In today's world, more and more countries are seeking a right method to implement their political goals, what are same in some ways like stable society, well-developped economy, beatific people and strong nation power. Undoubtedly, these goals are accord with common ground and reasonable consensus, and we believe the goal to pursuit the common and reasonable consensus of most people is eternal in politics.

SRV, 顺便说一句，我和你可是一个专业的，不过现在做编辑呢。你们改的很有道理。ICY,你说我的结构有点怪，我自己今天再看一遍，确实读起来费劲，而且用词太生，不好。我觉得我的语言运用能力很难表现我的观点，就是这样。所以写起来很不顺。
