Under very cold conditions, rocks can be shattered by ice and frost. 选项里under different climatic conditions的意思不是在不同的气候条件下么，但是放在第一空的话后面接的就只有寒冷的气候条件下，是一种气候条件哎。如果在第三空，虽然读起来怪怪的……但是可以理解为在不同的气候条件下，生物都可以改造地貌。
求解为什么要选第一个，谢谢！

可是under different conditions不是说在各种不同的气候条件下嘛，但是dry只是一种condition
难道这里“under different conditions"的意思是under conditions different from very cold condition?

我觉得关键是climatic conditions，所以其后一句一定是某种和climate有关的东西。如果填在第三空，那么climate和living things这种关系是读者人为猜测出来的，这个逻辑并不能从文本中明确推出。感觉toelf的标准就是每题必有明确答案，并且答案一定是可以从文本中唯一推出的，文本之外的逻辑一般不要随便猜。个人观点~

我本来就是在纠结different climate conditions在后面怎么只对应了dry这一个condition...
