just imagine that. if you study 艺术史, and fortunately you get an on-site interview. then, the interviewer asks you that, "are you strong with C++ or Java? which one do you prefer?"
You respond: "java? which era are you talking about?"
Interviewer: "kk, could you tell me how you would do with dynamic memory allocation? which library will you have to put in header?"
You: "ahhh, library! i know there are a number of masterpieces in some libraries, such as xxx."
Interviewer: "k....the last question i would ask you today is, assume there is an array including xxx strings, and you need to sort them with the best O. Could you code them up in eclipse?"
You: "Ahh, eclipse, it is beautiful eh?"
It's pretty hard to find a job with an art history degree, but it's canada, you can explore many other field with limited prerequisites. I have a friend graduated with a bachlor in accounting and she's working at Air canada as a flight attendent after 6 months trainning. Depend on your interest, you can go back to school to study nursing (yes there are a huge demand for male nurse!!! I worked at hospital). There are other short training programs, (1-2 years) you can attend (I am pretty sure you can apply student visa for these short term programs as well). All I am trying to say is there are other occupations out there don't require you to have a related university degree. It's not the end of the world! If you are a very driven person you will see the light.
