31) Society should make efforts to save endangered species only if the potential extinction of those species is the result of human activities.
Write a response in which you discuss your views on the policy and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider the possible consequences of implementing the policy and explain how these consequences shape your position.

这篇不忍直视,写完发现发展中国家真不一定穷,那就不是不能负担生物保护的开支;并且indirect intervention和natural extinction为什么需要保护也没写好,于是这个分类渣了。回去默默学习范文

The policy suggests that only if human activites are the main causes of the potential extinction, the society should make active efforts to save these species. Compared to the policy demanding efforts to safe a wider range of endangered species, the policy mentioned in the statement would put less economic pressure on countries. Thus, for developed countries, they have a higher possibility of being affected by the side effects of the policy, because the decreased species diversity might affect their society in an in direct way. However, for developing countries, the policy mentioned would be just fine for them before they can fully achieve their development in more important areas such as science and economics.

To begin with, for developing countries, the policy mentioned in the statement would work well for them, since they do not have enough financial supports to enforce more costly policies such as making efforts to save species for the biological diversity of the earth. As we know, developing countries should focus their financial power in economical development, because it would benefit these countries in the long run, which would endow them with the ability of contributing much more to the biological diversity in future. However, if they try to save more endangered species regardless of whether it is caused by human activities or not, their economical growth would be harmed and also their limited power would not make much contribution to the global species diversity at this very moment.

However, it would be another case when comes to the developed countries. The industries in these countries are fully developed and pure economic growth is no longer the major concern. As we know, developed countries are searching in different fields rather than focusing on economic increasing in order to have further development. Thus, putting more resources on biological investment such as saving endangered species could be the opportunity. However, if only the human-caused endangered species are saved would be far from enough. Some species extinct with indirect human intervention. For example, Dongbei Tiger disappeared in the northeast China decades ago because of the shortage of food supply. As we know, tigers predate various kinds of animals, they are not likely to suffer from food shortage because of human hunting. The reason is its inhabitant was narrowed down by tree cuttings, which is not a direct intervention of mankind.

Despite the indirect intervention, for developed countries, some species that are naturally dying out should also belong to the range of to be saved. For example, the pandas could not be naturally survived without experts' aid. Considering they are highly representative and have high value for seeing, most of pandas are costly taken care of by multiple countries including America, Japan and China, etc. Let's consider another case, if some species die out naturally, then its preys would tend to proliferate, which could cause ecological disturbance. Imagine if the frog are near extinction, then there would be much more locusts eating crops. If these locusts are not under control by human intervene, the outcome could be disasterous. Thus, for developed countries, it is more proper to decide which species to save upon the potential outcome of certain species' extinction rather than whether they are dying of human activities.

In conclusion, applying this policy would be reasonable for developing countries for their inability in finance. However, it would not be enough for developed countries to save the human-caused endangered species only considering the potential outcome of species extinction and their economics abilities.

10) Nations should pass laws to preserve any remaining wilderness areas in their natural state, even if these areas could be developed for economic gain.

格式模仿了老师的ISSUE31

Since the industrialization of human society, a huge area of wilderness has been threatened by development, especially by human inhabitant stirred by economic MOTIVATIONS. Indeed, some efforts have been made to protect the remaining wilderness areas. Given the limited resources, some people argue that any wilderness areas should be protected by national law despite the potential economical loss. In my opinion, it is not feasible to adopt such idea into policy packages as such kind of project would not be sustainable without economical considerations. Instead, through and comprehensive investigations of the target wilderness areas are needed before deciding which area should be preserved. Afterward, a detailed financial project should be made to guarantee the availability of the preservation project which will be carried on afterwards.

To begin with, without adequate economical considerations, any preservation plan could not work out well in a sustainable way. Imagine if no financial supports are provided to run the preservation programs, all economical burden would be transferred to government budgets reasonably. Since the government resources are limited, other projects running would be severely intervened by an abrupt cut back in budgets, such as elderly-caring projects and basic education enhancement projects, etc. Such setbacks would consequently lead to living standard degrading and dissatisfaction. Therefore, more chaos would be generated rather than benefit. And the policy mentioned in the statement would more likely to be terminated rather than carried on.

In addition, another reason against the proposed policy is that investigations should be made before any further steps, in order to avoid unnecessary cost. For example, as intervened by many human activities such as road constructions, a large number of wilderness areas might be cut into several small sectors which would not be sufficient for many wildlife to live such as tigers and wolfs. Such kind of wild animals need to possess a vast area as their territory, in order to guarantee a relatively adequate food sources. However, several small sectors could not fulfill the demand. In other words, a large number of wild animals would disappear in these areas and the ecological system would deteriorate and become a severely unstable one. Therefore, necessary investigations into remaining wilderness areas are vital before any further steps being taken. Otherwise, unnecessary money are spent and the benefits of preserving certain areas would not overweight the investment for the project.

Finally, the proposed policy failed to take into account the power of possible economical gain. Economy could play the fundamental role in a viable preservation projects. Suppose certain parts of wilderness areas are permitted to be developed for financial purposes, such as hotels, restaurants and even shopping malls. Then, parts of the huge profit generated could be invested to support preservation programs and investigation programs. And such programs could offer more opportunities for further developments. As a consequence, a positive cycle between development and preservation is created which could guarantee the wilderness areas a promising and sustainable future. In other words, More preservation areas would be built and more profits would be made.

In conclusion, to pass laws to preserve any remaining wilderness areas in a natural state without any economical considerations would not be practical in reality because it lacks viability. Instead, we should convey detailed investigations into the target protecting areas and create a positive cycle between economical development and wilderness preservation to guarantee the sustainability and profits of protecting programs.

63) There is little justification for society to make extraordinary efforts—especially at a great cost in money and jobs—to save endangered animal or plant species.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.

继续同一个TOPIC,大写是自改的时候加上的,括号内的是限时写作的原文,GINGER在WIN10上就没跑起来过,肯定有单复数和主谓一致的错误,没时间改了。

With the industrialization of human society, a large number of animal or plant species are threatened by human activities. Indeed, some efforts have been made to preserve the endangered species. But given the limited resources, some people argue that ANY extraordinary efforts should NOT be made, including investments and jobs, to save the species which are near extinction. In my opinion, it would be COSTLIER(more costly) if we do not make great efforts in preservation of endangered species right now, as a number of endangered species are of great value for humankind. Moreover, if efforts TOWARDS INCREASEING investment and jobs are made, the long-term cost OF PRESERVATION would be lower and the society would enjoy the enumerous benefits created by it.

First of all, there are quite a large quantity of benefit to be discovered from endangered species, which could overweight the efforts made by the society. For example, some species of plants have great potential to produce substance with important pharmaceutical value such as artemisinin and should be protected with great efforts. Besides, other species could also offer further insights into the biology of certain plant and animal groups, and could help solve problems in biological as well as in other scientific areas. If these species are disappeared from the earth, we would have to exert more effort into gaining the same FRUITS FROM HARDER discoveries. Therefore, species with great scientific and practical value should be protected with extraordinary efforts.

In addition, another reason against the statement is that by exerting great effort in preserving technologies, the long-term cost of protecting animal and plant species NEAR EXTINCTION would be lowed. If we do not preserve endangered species with hard work, decades later, it is likely that ineffective old ways of preserving techniques are also applied to future animals and plants. We may still need to build UNNECESSARY buildings and training EXTRA people to stay in forests and take care of endangered species, without support from advanced equipment and knowledge. In contrast, if we focus extraordinarily on science development such as gene technologies, gene banks could be built to save every kind of endangered species at a relative lower cost. And it is anticipated BY ECONOMICAL STUDIES that the cost of building gene banks would decline over time. Therefore, the long-term cost would be cut down with great efforts on development on gene science.

What's more, the efforts made to preserve species near extinction would also PROMOTE THE OVERALL WEALTHY OF SOCIETY AS WELL AS THE AVERAGE AGE OF CITIZENS. For instance, progresses made in biological science and technologies could lead to knowledge extension and pharmaceutical development through extraordinary efforts of researchers. With the help of such medical science progress, the people may suffer from less diseases and the average age would also rise to a new level. Besides, investment from big medical corporations might be attracted into PRODUCING(the production) new medicine, which would lead to a further increasement of financial profits for people working in medical field as well as SHAREHOLDERS( corresponding businessman). Therefore, more fortunes are created for the society as a whole.

In conclusion, great efforts should be made in protecting endangered plant and animal species, for the POTENTIAL great scientific and practical value of certain species. What's more, extraordinary efforts could lead to further technology development and lower the cost in the long run AS WELL AS PROMOTING(and promote) the WEALTH OF THE WHOLE SOCIETY and living standard of all people.

67) Some people believe that society should try to save every plant and animal species, despite the expense to humans in effort, time, and financial well-being. Others believe that society need not make extraordinary efforts, especially at a great cost in money and jobs, to save endangered species.

这一系列的题因为熟一些,想看看有没有办法再提高速度

Since the industrialization of human society, a large number of plant and animal species are threatened by human activities such as building dams, logging and manufacturing. Indeed, some efforts have been made to protect the endangered species. But given the limited resources, some people argue that the society should not make extraordinary efforts to save endangered species, especially at the cost of money and jobs. However, I tend to oppose the idea because they might fail to see the potential benefits for the growth of overall wealth in society. In my opinion, it is more feasible to devote tremendous human efforts including time and financial resources to preserve the endangered species, as the diversity of species would greatly benefit humankind and the cost in preserving would gradually decline in the long run. I will support my position with concrete examples as follows.

First of all, the human society may benefit a great deal from protecting the endangered species which have great scientific or practical value. And it would be worthwhile to devote great efforts into the preservation programs. For instance, some endangered plant species could have the potential to produce substance with important pharmaceutical value, which would enhance the development of medical research FOR CURING OR PREVENTING some diseases. Some other species may lead to further insights into the biology of certain animal and plant groups, and could help scientists to solve problems in biology and other scientific fields. Without proper protection, these species may die out. And it could take MUCH more time and resources to achieve the same discovery without the help of the living species. Therefore, great efforts should be made considering the extraordinary value THE ENDANGERD SPECIES(they) have.

In addition, though the preservation project may be HIGHLY costly at the beginning, the overall expense could be reduced tremendously in the long term with the development of gene technology. Given the extraordinary efforts on researches in gene science, biologists today could build gene banks to preserve every single kind of endangered animals or plants. (For plants species, the seed could be dried and freezed at the temperature typical of winter and may be thawed and regrown when necessary. For animal species, the efforts include preserve their sperms and eggs in zoological freezers.) SINCE ALL GENE NEED TO BE STRICTLY PRESERVED AT A PROPER LOW TEMPERATURE WITH SPECIAL FREEZERS, The expense of gene preservation may be relatively high today. HOWEVER, With the further development in gene science, THE PRESERVATION PRECEDURE COULD BE DONE WITH SIMPLER STEPS. AND THE EXPENSE OF MANUFACTURING THE SPECIEAL FREEZER WOULD ALSO DECLINE WITH THE HELP OF MASS PRODUCTION IN FUTURE. THEREFORE, it is anticipated that the cost of building a gene bank would GRADUALLY decline over time. If no further efforts ARE(is) devoted into this field, it is not feasible for having a comparatively lower expenditure in gene preservation.

Despite the potential benefits from making great efforts, some people argue that there is no necessity to make extraordinary efforts to save endangered species. However, they might fail to recognize the potential benefits in developing the technologies for preserving endangered species. For example, in order to discover and utilize the potential scientific and practical value in endangered species, new medicine industry WHICH FUNCTIONS (functioning both) as BOTH labs and factories (could)WOULD emerge to generate more profits for selling the newly invented drugs and offer more jobs for graduates. Consequently, CORREPONDING shareholders could have (their) A LARGE NUMBER OF benefits, AND the overall unemployment rate could be improved and even the average age of citizen could be raised up to a new level.

In conclusion, it is more reasonable to make great efforts in preserving endangered animals and plants, as some species have great scientific and practical values FOR HUMANKIND and the long-term cost would decline with more resources devoted. What's more, the overall well-being of society could be promoted with the benefits of the new industry based on preserving and utilizing endangered species.

125) Some people claim that a nation's government should preserve its wilderness areas in their natural state. Others argue that these areas should be developed for potential economic gain.
Write a response in which you discuss which view more closely aligns with your own position and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should address both of the views presented.

With the inevitable process of urbanization, IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT a large number of wilderness areas have been replaced by human inhabitants. Indeed, some efforts have been made to slow down the process. To support this idea, some people argue the wilderness areas of their nations should be preserved in the natural states. However, in my opinion, reasonable development should be allowed towards these wilderness areas, as it is unwise to neglect the potential economic benefits through developing such kind of areas. Besides, the natural status would not be ruined by well-planed development. I will support my position with concrete examples as follows.

To begin with, a large amount of natural areas (have)HAS extraordinary potential to be developed, since their natural beauty and clean environment are precious resources for many citizens living in (metropolitan)METROPOLIS. For example, in the south-west China, the undeveloped tropical forests have (attract)ATTRACTED lots of residents all over the nation to pay a visit. A number of local hotels and restaurants appear to provide necessary services for the growing number of tourists. As is reported, the state incomes from tourism triples every year and the tourism industry is increasing at (a)AN unimaginable speed, which illustrate the great potential in developing the untouched natural areas.

In addition, developments for economic purposes would not devastate the precious natural resources despite the (same)WORRING concern from many naturalists. Take the Tibet Plateau as example. The well known Qingzang railway FOR TRANSPORTAION CONVENIENCE IS DESIGNED TO ENCOURAGE THE TRADE BETWEEN TIBET AND EAST CHINA AND TOURISTS TO VISIT THE PLATEAU. (has allowed people from east China to reach Lasa directly by train, which might add a serious pressure to the plateau natural reserve. The railway is particularly designed) To reduce the impacts on the wild life in Tibet, THE RAILWAY IS DELIBERATELY LIFT INTO THE SKY IN ORDER TO LET THE LOCAL SPECIES TO MIGRANT. What's more, Among the people towards Tibet only a few madcaps camp in the wild plateau and walk across the no man's land, which would not seriously affect the unique wild life living on the plateau for centuries. In other words, the purity of nature on the plateau could be preserved well in this manner.

However, some people argue the wilderness areas should be preserved in their very natural states. Nevertheless, these people FAIL(fails) to take sustainability of preservation projects INTO(in) consideration. Because such kind of projects (have no potential in) HAVE NO CAPABILITY TO OFFER potential benefits, investors from big corporations and private sectors would not be attracted BY THEM. Without financial supports from non governmental money, governments should take to responsibility of preserving the wilderness areas REASONABLY. Given the limited resources, governmental supports for other programs would be cut down, which could lead to worse education quality, unpromising economic performance and unsatisfying walfare standard. Therefore, it is not practical for the government to support all the preservation projects without profits in return. CONSEQUENTLY, THE PROPOSED POLICY WOULD NOT BE SUSTAINABLE.

In conclusion, AS THE EXAMPLES APTLY ILLUSTRATE, wilderness areas should be reasonably developed for potential economical gains, with the consideration of great potential in developing. Also, (well-planed) development would not ruin the natural statues of wilderness regions IF IT IS WELL PLANED. What's more, it is not feasible to preserve the areas in their total natural state without considering about the sustainability of the projects DUE TO THE LIMITED GOVERNMENT RESOURCES.

148) Nations should pass laws to preserve any remaining wilderness areas in their natural state.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim. In developing and supporting your position, be sure to address the most compelling reasons and/or examples that could be used to challenge your position.

Since the modernization of human society, a large number of natural wilderness areas are replacing by human inhabitants. Indeed, some efforts have been made to slow the process down. But given the limited remaining wilderness areas, some people argue that any of this kind of areas should be protected with national laws to maintain their original state. In my view, such kind of preservation criteria must not be supported, because preserving any remaining wilderness areas as what they are would not be sustainable. Instead, it is wiser to make through investigations before any further steps are taken. After investigations, the development of the wilderness area should be well planned in advance to maximize the profits and minimize the devastation.

To begin with, proper development rather than absolute preservation should be considered to be adopted into policies because of the issue of sustainability. Imagine an area of wilderness is not allowed for any development for financial propose.  No investments from big corporations and private citizens would likely to be attracted because of lacking potential profits. Consequently, the government have to pay for the bill. Given the limited government resources, the budgets for other programs would have to be cut back, which would likely to result in worse quality of education, deterioration of economic growth and decrease in public welfare. Therefore, it is not sustainable to preserve the wilderness area with such a high cost of society resources.

In addition, certain wilderness areas have high potential value for tourism development, which could help rise the living standard of the natives and provide a desirable recreational place for people from cities. For example, in the southwest China, there are wide range of tropical forests remaining undeveloped. The diversity of animal and plant species have attracted a lot of biologists and ecologists to have field trip there. What's more, the beautiful sightseeing also drives many citizens to leave the metropolis and enjoy the nice environment of the tropical forests. Therefore, a lot of restaurants and hotels appear to provide services for all the travelers. It is reported that the income from tourism triples every single year, and the local tourism industry is boosting at an unimaginable speed. Consequently, the great potential that the wilderness areas have provides strong supports for future development.

Though some people may argue these areas should be protected as their original state, probably because their concern about some improper developments could have ruined the nature there. However, their concerns might be excessive if the development project is well-planed in advance and strictly enforced afterwards. Take the undeveloped forests mentioned above as an example. To preserve the nature state of these areas, we could selectively choose to encourage the development of tourism rather than polluting factories, which could be a disaster to the local environment. Concerning with details, low-density hotels would be more preferable to high-rises, and a proper limit of car access would also help the area maintains the way it is. In this way, considerable economic profits could be achieved without the devastation of the forests.

In conclusion, as the two examples aptly illustrate, the proposed claim should not be supported, due to its inherent lack of sustainability. What's more, well-planed developments might be introduced to these natural areas as such development could minimize the harm to environment and utilize the natural resources wisely to benefit both natives and people from cities.

20) Some people believe that college students should consider only their own talents and interests when choosing a field of study. Others believe that college students should base their choice of a field of study on the availability of jobs in that field.
Write a response in which you discuss which view more closely aligns with your own position and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should address both of the views presented.

Since the competition for jobs after graduation become more and more fierce, students need to make up their mind whether they should choose the study field based on the job prospect or not. In my view, choosing one's major considering the availability of jobs would not be desirable for most students, as the future job market would tend to be hard to predict in advance. Rather, their own talents and interests should be taken into considerations, since they would be more likely to achieve their full potential in this way. Besides, companies today value the creativity of employees more, due to the ever innovating trend of the world. I will use concrete examples to back up my points afterwards.

To begin with, interests and talents could serve as the best incentive for students to achieve their (full potential) PROMISING FUTURE rather than the (promising) UNRELIABLE PREDICTION OF job market. As we know, to accomplish the study in college, students need to be persistent and hardworking IN their fields. They are required to cover a large number of study materials BOTH in class AND in their part time. Without interest, it would be boring and dull to finish all these tasks. They will likely to get a diploma rather than get TRUELY educated. Also, students are not likely to get high GPA if they lack interests in these subjects, which would probably set obstacles to the success of their future career.

In addition, more companies are focusing on the creativity of their employees rather than the specific degrees that they hold. For example, the well-know 3M company is one of the pioneer of creativity-focused employers. In 1948, 3 years after the end of WWII, the 3M launched the RADICAL "15 percent" program, which allows their employees to devote 15 percent of their part time into subsidiary projects that they are interested in. By doing this, many inventions helped the company to earn more profits, such as clear bandages, optical films reflecting lights, painter tapes and so on, a large number of which are still necessary parts of our daily life TODAY. LATER, THE WELL-KNOWN GOOGLE COMPANY WAS INSPIRED BY THE STORY AND STARTED ITS OWN “20 PRECENT” PROGRAM. AS A RESULT, A NUMBER OF SOFTWARES IN TODAY'S COMPUTERS INCLUDING GOOGLE EARTH AND GMAIL CAME INTO BEING, WITHOUT WHICH A LOT OF PEOPLE COULD HARDLY FINISH THEIR JOBS NOWADAYS. IN OTHER WORDS, INTERESTS PLAY A MUCH MORE CRUCIAL ROLE THAN THE DIPLOMA IN FUTURE CAREER.

However, some people may argue that by choosing fields based on the prospect of jobs could help increase the chance of getting decent jobs. But this statement is not consistent with reality, as the world economy is changing in an unprecedented way, and the demand expertise differs from time to time. For example, back to the 1990s, architecture is a major with promise of many job offers to graduates since the the demands are growing at a high speed with policy supports. Yet, around the 2010s, the burst of estate bubbles had dramatically cut the position for architects. But nowadays, with the recovery of economy, more architects are in need again in the job market. Therefore, it is not true that the availability of job could be predicted by someone in advance. AND SUCH UNRELIABLE PREDICTION WOULD NOT LEAD TO THE DESIRED JOBS.

In conclusion, students should choose their field of study based on their own interests and talents, as many corporations today are focusing on the creativity of employees rather than the specific diplomas ones have. Also, by doing this, it is more likely for them to achieve success in career. Moreover, since the job market is inclined to be unpredictable, choosing majors based on job prospect would not leading to desired jobs after four years.

39) College students should be encouraged to pursue subjects that interest them rather than the courses that seem most likely to lead to jobs.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the recommendation and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, describe specific circumstances in which adopting the recommendation would or would not be advantageous and explain how these examples shape your position.

Since the competition within the human society become more and more fierce, a large number of college students start to consider if they should pursue their future major based on (job prospective)JOB PROSPECT. In my view, students should follow their own interests, if they are going to contribute their creativity to companies and society, or to continue academic researches. Personal interests would benefit them in the long run. However, if more decent payment after graduation is their pursuit, then choosing a field with promising career future would be a better choice. I will use concrete examples to illustrate my points AS FOLLOWS.

To begin with, students should pursue their personal interests if they want to (do)ENGAGE IN creative jobs after graduation. With the ever competing process of human history, more companies stress on the employees' ability to achieve innovations. For example, Google had launched the famous program named "20 percent program", which allowed their staffs to use 20 percent of their working time in researching subsidiary projects that they were personally interested in. As a consequence, this program helped to create a number of well-known products such as Google Earth and G-mail, etc. As an employee of such ever innovating company, (creativity would serve better than certificates.)CREATIVITY PLAYS A MORE VITAL ROLE THAN CERTIFICATES.

In addition, referring to students who want to pursue academic achievements in future, they should also pick the field of their genuine interests. Take a students pursuing Phd degree of theoretical physics as an example. In the field of theoretical physics, all study materials are likely to be severely detached with daily life. If students are not interested, it would not be feasible for them to cover all the difficult materials of this field and come up with own SYSTEMATICALLY DEVELOPED idea. Therefore, the possible consequence would be quitting the major or finishing it without any true insights, both of which would not be the desirable outcome for either university professors or the student.

Despite all the situations mentioned above, INTEREST-BASED MAJOR CHOICE MIGHT NOT BENEFIT ALL STUDENTS. FOR INSTANCE, some students might not have a desirable economic background. When they graduate from college, they could have a large number of (debt)DEBTS owing to banks or relatives, WHICH MIGHT PREVENT THEM FROM PURSUING FOR GREATER GOALS. Therefore, the most urgent issue is to CLEAR ALL THE DEBTS AND achieve the economic independence. It is more reasonable for them to choose their field based on the availability of jobs. (They could major in accounting, international business, or marketing, since) BASED ON SUCH A CRITERIA, (a decent) payment could be guaranteed as soon as they graduate from the university. In this way, it is possible for them to clear the debts in a few years and pursue new goals with a certain number of deposits.

In conclusion, as the three examples aptly illustrate, students could benefit more if they choose their major based on their personal interests and talents, if they want to pursue academic goals or take positions in innovative companies. Nevertheless, for students who are longing for a decent payment as soon as they graduate, choosing their field considering the availability of jobs would be more wise and practical.

98) Educational institutions should actively encourage their students to choose fields of study in which jobs are plentiful.
Write a response in which you discuss your views on the policy and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider the possible consequences of implementing the policy and explain how these consequences shape your position.

例子基本上是固定的了,需要下功夫的是从题目开始的起承转合

The fierce competition in the job market has stirred many educational institutions to consider whether students should be encouraged to choose study fields based on job prospect or not. Some policy has been proposed to support students' choices of fields where job opportunities are plentiful. In my opinion, it is not feasible to apply this policy in reality, since the availiblity of job is not guaranteed in four or five years. Instead, students should focus on their personal interests, which will offer them more chances for successes in researches and careers. I will REFUTE THE PROPOSED POLICY AND support my position with concrete examples as follows.

To start with, predicting the job availibility of certain field is not practical in this ever-changing world, because the economy is growing in an unprecedented way and the demand for certain expertise differs from time to time. For example, back to the 1990, architecture is a major with promises of many job offers to the graduates, thanks to the thriving of estate business. Yet, when it comes to the 2010s, the burst of the estate bubble had dramatically cut the number of architects in the job market. However, with the bouncing back of Chinese economy, a large number of architects are needed again to design buildings. Therefore, THE PROPOSED POLICY COULD NOT BE APPLIED PRACTICALLY DUE TO THE UNPREDICTABLE JOB MARKET. (it is not true that one can reliably predict the future demands for a certain expertise in such an ever-evolving world).

Instead of effortless prediction of job market, it is wiser for students to really focus on their personall interest when at schools, which would probably offer them more opportunities towards a successful career. Since the invention of the Internet, information is exploding in an exponential pattern. Students need to master much more knowledge than decades before BEFORE GRADUATION. Without interest, students would learn reluctantly and passively. Therefore, they could not effectively digest that large amount of knowledge in four years, which might set obstacles to their future careers. NEVERTHELESS, APPLYING THE POLICY WOULD DECREASE THE CHANCES FOR STUDENTS TO THRIVE ON THEIR OWN INTERES.

Some people may argue that there would be more chances for students who have a specific degree to have a desired job. Therefore, applying the proposed policy would be satisfying IF A STUDENT WANTS A DECENT JOB. However, it is not consistent with reality. Nowadays, many companies thrive on their abilities to innovate. In other words, whether the employee is valuable or not depends on his or her capablity to create RATHER THAN THE DIPLOMA ONE HOLDS. Take the famous GOOGLE corporation as an example. Since 2002, a program named "20 percent program" is applied to every staff of this company. It means that every employee could use 20 percent of their work time to deal with their own projects. As a consequence, SOME MOST famous products such as G-mail and Google earth is DEVELOPED(created) thanks to this audacious plan STRESSING ON PERSONAL INTEREST. AN INFORMATION MIGHT BE CLEARLY CONDUCTED: Today, interest might create more value than a diploma paper.

In conclusion, as the three examples aptly illustrate, students should be encouraged to focus on their personal interest instead of job prospects of a certain field, since the latter one is not predictable in this era. What's more, interest could do more help to the students' future success and create more practical value for their employers after graduation.

51) The following memorandum is from the business manager of Happy Pancake House restaurants.
Butter has now been replaced by margarine in Happy Pancake House restaurants throughout the southwestern United States. Only about 2 percent of customers have complained, indicating that 98 people out of 100 are happy with the change. Furthermore, many servers have reported that a number of customers who ask for butter do not complain when they are given margarine instead. Clearly, either these customers cannot distinguish butter from margarine or they use the term 'butter' to refer to either butter or margarine. Thus, to avoid the expense of purchasing butter and to increase profitability, the Happy Pancake House should extend this cost-saving change to its restaurants in the southeast and northeast as well.
Write a response in which you discuss what questions would need to be answered in order to decide whether the recommendation is likely to have the predicted result. Be sure to explain how the answers to these questions would help to evaluate the recommendation.

The business manager suggests that the restaurants should offer margarine instead of butter in the southeast and northeast to increase their profitability since customers from southwestern United States are generally happy with the change. In order to make the argument more reliable and safer, we need to answer several questions:  What is the exact ratio of customers happy with the change, why they do not complain when served with margarine rather than butter, Whether this strategy would work out well in other parts of America.

The first question we need to answer is what is the exact ratio of customers who are happy with the change.

Another question need to be answered is why the majority of customers do not complain when served with margarine instead of butter.

Finally, we need to answer whether the strategy of substituting margarine for butter would work out as well in southeast and northeast of the United States.
