我的申请明年9月开学的，材料已经全部邮寄去了加拿大，共18个（有的是化工，有的是化学，有的学校两个同时申请了）。目前有5个学校告诉我材料已经收到。
我发现应该早点套词。因为好多学校的教授告诉我他已经招满了，或者说不打算明年招。可是我的申请材料已经邮寄走了，而且申请费也已经交了！！！
所以大家一定要先套词，虽然回复的可能性比较小。我发了30多封邮件，结果只有10封回信，只有一位教授对我有兴趣。其他的都是拒信。不过这位教授倒是很有兴趣要我。我把他给我的邮件公布一下，大家看看。
1.Dear Sir,

We do have positions in exactly what you are looking for, so I encourage you to apply to our department for admitance. Of course you will need to supply TOEFL scores etc as outlined in the graduate admissions area of our university web site and you will have to meet the basic requirements of our department. When you apply, just say that Dr Antonelli expressed interest in your file.

You have to formally apply to our department before you send TOEFL scores. The information is on the web page of graduate studies. If your marks are good and the recommendation letters from your advisors are good, and your toefl is good, then you will be accepted. And can join whichever group in the department is interested in you.

There is no need to apply for scholarships as this is usually only done after the student is accepted, arrives, and has taken graduate courses. As for the GRE scores, you should contact graduate studies with these questions as the rules for admissions changes changes frequently. You will find it comforting to know that all graduate students are supported by TA and GA, the exact amount of which again can be obtained from graduate studies. When you contact them and your file is complete, make sure you ask them to send me a copy of the file so I can review everything.
