学校发来这个邮件是什么意思

本来申请的是东亚系，今天收到小米发来的邮件：
Your application to the East Asian Studies Department has been reviewed by the department’s admission committee.  In keeping with your expressed academic interests and goals, the department felt that your application merited an evaluation by the Politics Department.
In order to formally transfer your application to the suggested department we require your approval of this request.
这是不是基本没戏了……

要转到Politics Department review 一下你的材料，因为你的interests 和 goals 让人家觉得你跟别的系比较fit，也不能说没戏，说不定会被Politics Department录取。。。

我查了政治系的faculty，好像没有研究我这个方向的，不知道为啥他们觉得我可能更适合政治系……
学校帮忙转申请方向的情况常见吗？
