Assistant Professor Jie Xu in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Miami is seeking Ph.D. applicants in the area of networking, machine learning, communications, information and signal processing. The students will work together with Dr. Xu on exciting research topics on network science, cybersecurity, cloud computing, machine learning, game theory, multi-agent learning etc. The applicants are expected to have strong analytical/programming abilities. Bio: Jie Xu received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2008 and 2010, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2015 with a Distinguished Ph.D. Dissertation Award. Dr. Xu's research spans the area of machine learning, data mining and game theory. His interests lie in both developing the theory in these areas and applying it in real-world engineering systems.
