Work experience requirements vary by program.  For our MBA program 2 years of work experience is required.  For our MS degrees, no work experience is required.

If you want to get work experience for a degree you should look for work that relates to the degree program that you are interested in.

For students without work experience we base our decision on test scores, transcripts, statement of purpose, letters of recommendation and an interview with an admissions officer.  A lot of careful examination of these materials goes into making a decision on who we feel will be most successful at WPI and who will add to the overall learning experience.  I hope this answers your question.

Full-time applicants whose native language is not English and have not earned a degree from an institution in which the language of instruction is English are required to sit for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS).  Our minimum TOEFL score is 84.  Our minimum IELTS score is 7.0

Both the GMAT and GRE are accepted.  Our minimum GMAT score is 500.  We do not have a minimum GRE score.  We enter your GRE score into an online tool that converts it into a GMAT equivalent score.  Our minimum GMAT score is 500.

For our degree programs in Operations Design, Marketing and Management, what you studied as an undergrad is not important.  We will teach you what you need to know.  For the MS IT program you do need to have had exposure to technical training and computer programming.

Our decisions are based on your application materials and the additional questionnaire that we ask you to fill out.  Take the time to write good answers to the essay questions.

We examine your overall application.  If you are weak in one area we look to several other parts of your application to determine if there are other attributes or characteristics that will help strengthen it.

Thank you. I have visited that website before, and I think I might ignore the information that all the houses are off campus. But I still wanna know that how many houses you will provide for graduate students. Because I have heard that the houses are so difficult to apply and there always have a long waiting list for most applicants.
