Thank you for your email. The required degree for all JD students is a bachelor’s degree. So for the purpose of evaluating you, the Admissions Committee will first look at your undergraduate transcript. Since an LL.M. degree is not required, it will be considered as supplemental information. Meaning if the transcript is available it will considered. If is not available, this will not delay the review of your file.
Thank you for your interest in Texas Law. The GPA that is calculated by the LSAC is based on your undergraduate degree. While your LLM work can be taken into consideration, it is not necessary for us to have it before we can make a decision. Rest assured that you will have plenty of time to be considered if you choose to wait to apply until your first semester LLM grades are released.
Thank you for your interest in USC Law! Unfortunately, USC Law requires your full academic transcript, including your final LLM grades, before we can make an admissions decision.
You may consider applying to our LLM-JD transfer program at the end of your LLM program. We send admissions decisions for that program during June or July of the summer prior to the first semester of the JD program. You can read more about that program here.
