Dr. Xiaonan Shan (Assistant Professor) in Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Houston is seeking a highly qualified PhD candidate from China. The student will work on building novel optical imaging platform, such as plasmonic imaging, and apply them in biology or/and nanomaterials research.
Experience in optical imaging, microscope, and plasmonics is expected. Potential students should have very strong hands-on skill to build optical instrument. Candidates with experience working with biological samples (cells or tissues) or nanomaterials are preferred. Candidates who have or are pursuing a master’s degree are encouraged to apply. TOEFL and GRE are required.
