Thank you for your interest in our MScBM Programme.

1. Since English is the medium of instruction of our MScBM Programme, applicants should possess a good command of English both written and spoken.  If English was not fully the medium of instruction for the first degree, applicants are required to provide evidence of English proficiency, e.g. English standard with a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) / 213 (computer-based) / 79 (internet-based) or IELTS overall band score of 6.5 or qualifications deemed acceptable to be equivalent.

In your case, if the medium of instruction of the first two years of your study in a mainland university is English, please provide a certificate of medium of instruction issued by your institution for our verification and confirmation. Otherwise, you will have to submit to us an English proficiency test result by the end of April 2017.

2.      Concerning the confidential recommendation letters, the two referees should be invited to complete and return the Confidential Recommendation Form directly to the Graduate School within two weeks from the date you submit your application. Referees can send back their recommendations through post to the Graduate School, email (gs@hkbu.edu.hk) or fax (852-3411 5133). If you want to submit on their behalf, you have to post to us the signed forms sealed by your referees. I am sorry to inform you that CET 4 or CET 6 is not accepted. If you do not meet the standard, you are suggested taking an English proficiency test again.

Our MScBM Programme is a one-year full-time general business programme suitable for junior business people or fresh graduates from any majors who wish to jump-start their business careers.    Therefore, students with an undergraduate degree not related to business are also welcome.

Scholarships/awards will be sent out to successfully-admitted applicants in different stages during our admission exercise. The result of scholarships/awards may not come together with the admission offer letter.

Please note that applications will only be assessed after all the application materials are received. If you have submitted all the required supporting documents and are qualified for our programme, you may expect to receive an interview invitation via email in about 2 weeks before the interview date.

Mainland students are normally required to attend the face-to-face interview that lasts for about 30 minutes in the form of group discussion, and a written test for another 30 minutes. The interviews will be arranged in different rounds and to be held in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou or Hong Kong. It is an opportunity for you to have a better understanding of our programme and the admission officers to better assess your suitability for our programme. Skype interview is only offered to students studying overseas or any other students with special justification.

Please note that GMAT is not required but highly encouraged. There is no special requirement of the result of GMAT. However, a satisfactory GMAT score would be helpful in the admission process.

You may submit your application and update us on your IETLS score when the result is available. However, please note that applications will only be assessed after all the application materials are received.

We are sorry to inform you that only international students are eligible for the International Postgraduate Scholarship. However, the MScBM Programme is offering a wide range of Scholarships which range from HK$40,000 to full tuition fee coverage.   Selection of the Award and Scholarship recipients is based on a holistic assessment. You may highlight more on your prior achievements or talents on the application form/curriculum vitae. Priority scholarship consideration is given to the admitted students who have completed all the admission procedures.

All qualified applicants will be automatically considered for scholarships. No separate application is required. Since the quota for scholarships is limited, you are advised to make the online application at http://gs.hkbu.edu.hk/en/home/apply/ at your earliest convenience.

Currently, we do not have a rigid requirement of the IETLS sub-scores, but a satisfactory score would be helpful in the admission process. Applicants who have fulfilled our admission requirement may be invited to attend the admission interview.  Admission panel will assess the applicants’ presentation and communication skills, motivation of study, etc.
