I totally agree with the viewpoint that money invested on research is almost always worthy, even when the results of that research are controversial. Because the nature of research determines we always can get something from these activities, more realization about the world or improvement of the technology, both of which are meaningful for the whole human being.

No doubt the impetus of the research is our endless curiosity; all academic disciplines initiated from the pursuit of the answers of secretes toward world, universe or life itself, and the cognition itself is priceless. The great theories such as Darwinism, sun centralism and relativism have ever seriously changed our attitude toward the word and our lives. With the accumulation of the knowledge, the other groups of researchers devote themselves to find the applications of all we have known so as to improve our living conditions, to develop the productivity and actualize our dreams. To realize it, we should go no further than the genetics. When we know what is gene and its functions, a series dreams come to true. People try to create creatures according our wills or to find and cure disease by modifying the patient's genes. As soon as the technology does solve some problems or meets certain needs of the society, the researches realize their values, even they fail to do so, people also gain experience from them and can also benefit our future researches. In fact, no research can be successful at once. Since all researches are engaged in these two aspects, theoretically, any investment to they is worthy.

However, there does exist some controversial researches. But I do not think of controversy as the reason to doubt the value of them. On the one hand, controversy comes from ignorance. Especially those famous researches have been most strongly argued against, because they can so seriously shook the foundation of the original cognition of the human being. We would not forget the foolish behaviors we have done to deny the evolutionism and sun-centralism; we would also not forget the derision to the first plane. Finally, it is the facts of the deep researches persuading people and finishing the controversy. For these reasons, I believe controversy sometimes means the needs of further research for more convincing evidence.

On the other hand, more controversies come from the worries about the effects of the applications of these researches' results. These worries can finally died away with the development of the human's power. In the first successful utilization of the scattergun in the First World War, the gun killed nearly 5 million people at one time; the blood dyed the earth red and the world was shook. Numerous reports described this gun as the tool of Satan and opposed the use of it. However, now, more advanced weapons have been created, and no focus would be paid to this conventional weapon, which indicates the fact that people have owned the power to deal with this problem. In fact, we do control the power of weapons through legislation and education. Now clone technology has been another controversial focus for the fear of the possible social and moral problems, such as how to define the relationship between you and your clone, and how to regulate the world with mounts of cloning people who would own the same fingerprints, an important sign, with the originals. What I want to say is all these problems are solvable, as we have worries similar problems when women started to claim their rights, when test-tube baby emerged, and finally we found the resolutions. Moreover, it also reflects the deficiency of the recognition about this technology; more researches should be done to gain useful knowledge to answer the questions, such as whether the clone would be identical in any respect with the original and how can we define a clone from its original? Though to maintain the stability of the society, government has to limit relevant researches, it does not mean it is wise to prohibit it forever. As soon as we own enough power to accept the results, we will thrive it at once.

All in all, researches are activities to fulfill our curiosity, and impetus of the development of the world, so money spent on it is almost always a good investment. If sometimes some researches are considered as controversy, it is still worthy people's efforts to more researches in order to finish the controversy.

Some one said that money spent on research is almost always a good investment, even when the results of that research are controversial. I strongly agree with this idea. In my opinion, the science research will bring benefit to our life, though some researches have their aspect of damaging our life.

We should admit that the result of some research have disadvantage more than its advantage. To better illustrate this point of view, let us take the research on weapons for example. The research of weapons has been carried on for thousands of years, and in the modern society, by the promotion of technology the weapons has become so powerful that there is statistics suggested that all the weapons now human possess can destroy the world in a few seconds. This kind of research does not provide any benefit to our life but also bring fear, anxiety, and sorrows. The research on these fields like weapons should be held up by the human being if we want to have a better future for our children.

It seems that the result of some research will damage our lives, however, if we control these research and make use of their advantage, we will benefit very much. There is an example of the nuclear energy. Notwithstanding that it is a nightmare for people all over the world that the nuclear energy was used as weapons, it is also helps a lot when it is used on the field for ordinary use. We can produce electricity by the nuclear energy. What more, the nuclear energy will solve the problem that human are facing the danger of energy exhausted. On the other hand, if the nuclear waste is properly disposed, the pollution cause by it is much smaller than the other energy such as the oil and coal. From this point, the research on nuclear will bring human more benefit than its disadvantages.

Further more, in my opinion, whether the result of a research will be beneficial or dangerous, it all depends on the human's behavior but no the research itself. For example, some scientist’s claim that the clone will is a tragedy of ethic if it had been carried on human so it must be forbidden but some do not think so. As a famous scientist said, "It does not matter that whatever the result of a research is, it is only a step of progress of human; where this step is going to, it all depends on the will of the people themselves." These words totally illustrate my view.

In summary, the technology and science research is double-edged sword. I have an opinion that when human have faced an unknown field of research or study, we should continue it and make good use of it. It must be a pity to abandon the study, while developing it to a harmful direction is totally a tragedy to human.

In my opinion, the science research (researches, 另外，我觉得不要说science好，因为社会科学一样有很多研究，这样有点偏) will bring benefit to our life, though some researches (some of them) have their aspect of damaging our life.

(谢谢。我8月16考啊，快啦， 你呢？ 你的提纲是 肯定有些结果有害，然后说明即便有这样的影响其实控制权在人们手中，是吗？我觉得这样写可以，但写的时候最好点一下题目说研究还是值得的，因为我看下来老有种游离的感觉。此外，和我一样，语言还要练，觉得有些句子写得罗嗦了，有更简洁的表达法，不需要那么绕。、
  另外，在我的文中，1）Though to maintain the stability of the society不是整句子，是把目的状语提前了，不过我应该在though 和 to 间加,号是真的。
2）The gun 是特指 scatter-gun因为后面说的是它的事情，只是可能不能这样指代。
3） you and your clone 你的修改是one person and his clone， 呵呵，提醒一下以后有性别的代词最好都写两个，这样不管男的女的改都比较没意见 改成 one person and his/her clone.你自己写的时候也注意啊。
