We can usually learn much more from people whose views we share than from people whose views contradict our own; disagreement can cause stress and inhibit learning.
From people whose views we share we get confidence, encouragement, and psychological satisfaction; from people whose views contradict our own we get new angles, fresh perspectives, and pertinent advices.  But excessive agreements would lead us to the morass of self-complacence; and extreme contradictions would weaken our determination of learning.  Thus we should fully recognize the potential danger of limiting our vision in one of the two sides.  And only through the approach of paying equal attention to both sides could we make further achievements in the process of learning.

Views and ideas from people agree with us may raise our confidence, strengthen our courage, and enhance our psychological satisfaction.  According to common sense and our everyday experience, the propensity to accept the ideas from people who agree with us rather than the opinions from people disagree with us associates strongly with the nature of human beings, for we are social animals and it is the inner instinct of us to seek for approval of others.  Imagine, what would you react if the work accomplished by your arduous efforts receives fierce criticism or not even a glance?  You would lose your strength to march in the long road of learning.  On the contrary, agreements may cause the feeling of being accepted and consented, thus we gain the psychological satisfaction which will impulse us to learn more.  Moreover, customarily, we tend to imitate and share ideas and behaviors from our parents, friends, classmates and so forth, who are in the same group of ours.  By this way we form knowledge of our own.

Not under all circumstances we can learn from people whose views we share.  Only base on the premises that all the views of our assenters are authentic and sincere, however, could we learn useful knowledge from them.  On condition that people consent and even flatter us for certain purposes which have nothing to do with learning, our learning would be hindered instead of motivated.  We would be possessed in the illusive pride and limited in a narrow bound of vision.  Consequently, we can see that the speaker’s assertion is incomplete and oversimplified.

Contradicting views and ideas could aware us of the mistakes and flaws in our work which we can not discover by ourselves, bring us fresh angles and perspectives, and then make our work mature and complete. Thereby through the discussion and competition both we and the people disagree with us could make advancements in our learning.  Debate on the same subject make it possible for human beings to make most of the achievements and advances on fields of science, technology, philosophy and the like.  If we see only on the one side of the coin, we could get only a partial and distorted knowledge and view which might mislead our learning.

Also, contradiction may cause negative effects under certain conditions, especially when the debate becomes irrational denouncement or personal attack.  Then our confidence would be impaired by the criticisms and our learning inhibited by the stress excessive contradictions brings us.  Disagreements would be detrimental rather than beneficial to our learning under this circumstance.

Bias on each of the two sides is detrimental to our learning for that agreements and disagreements form a organic entity which can not be absolutely divided.  Over reliance on one side is blind and unwise.  Agreements base on no evidence are actually flatters; disagreements without rational reasons are reprimands.  We would be enmeshed in the web of self-contention sewed by ourselves and could not go ahead if we and blinded by the flatters; we would be frozen in the chilly night of darkness created by reprimands and became helpless and hopeless.  We must pay equal attentions on both sides to see the whole picture.

To sum up, ideas of people whose views we share and people whose views contradict our own play their respective role in our learning, and none of them should be neglected. Therefore, balance between both sides is needed.  And only through this way could we achieve the further goal in our process of learning.

我觉得learn from people whose views we share是不是不应该包括表扬激起学习动力这个方面?

Views and ideas from people agree[用分词形式] with us may raise our confidence, strengthen our courage, and enhance our psychological satisfaction. According to common sense and our everyday experience, the propensity to accept the ideas from people who agree with us rather than the opinions from people disagree[疑惑,这种用法对么?做什么成分呢?] with us associates strongly with the nature of human beings, for we are social animals and it is the inner instinct of us to seek for approval of others. Imagine, what would you react if the work accomplished by your arduous efforts receives fierce criticism or not even[or even not] a glance? You would lose your strength to march in the long road of learning. On the contrary, agreements may cause the feeling of being accepted and consented, thus we gain the psychological satisfaction which will impulse us to learn more.[这个地方提到learn more,有效点题,好!] Moreover, customarily, we tend to imitate and share ideas and behaviors from our parents, friends, classmates and so forth, who are in the same group of ours. By this way we form knowledge of our own.[moreover以后说的不明白,想说什么呢?

Not under all circumstances we can learn from people whose views we share. Only base [还是应该是分词形式吧,做主语]on the premises that all the views of our assenters are authentic and sincere, however, could we learn useful knowledge from them.

Thereby through the discussion and competition both we and the people disagree with us[both后面we应该放在and后面] could make advancements in our learning. Debate on the same subject make [makes]it possible for human beings to make most of the achievements and advances on fields of science, technology, philosophy and the like. If we see only on the[去掉the] one side of the coin, we could get only a partial and distorted knowledge and view which might mislead our learning.

Also, contradiction may cause negative effects under certain conditions, especially when the debate becomes irrational denouncement or personal attack. Then our confidence would be impaired by the criticisms and our learning inhibited by the stress excessive contradictions brings [动词用法错误]us. Disagreements would be detrimental rather than beneficial to our learning under this circumstance.

Bias on each of the two sides is detrimental to our learning for that agreements and disagreements form a [an]organic entity which can not be absolutely divided. Over reliance on one side is blind[这个说法地道么? Agreements base [还是一样的,用法?based on 才对吧?]on no evidence are actually flatters; disagreements without rational reasons are reprimands. We would be enmeshed in the web of self-contention sewed by ourselves and could not go ahead if we and blinded by the flatters; we would be frozen in the chilly night of darkness created by reprimands and became helpless and hopeless. We must pay equal attentions on[词组应该用to吧?] both sides to see the whole picture.

To sum up, ideas of people whose views we share and people whose views contradict our own play their respective role in our learning, and none of them should be neglected. Therefore, balance between both sides is needed. And only through this way could we achieve the further goal in our process of learning.[结尾总结的好,而又简练,好]

Along with the globalization and the sharp mushrooming both in economy and society, it becomes so common that many people are trying their best for the limited positions in their pursuing of careers. Consequentially, competition which seems to be the only way for a man or woman to survive in this fast changing world is in the focus of more and more people. Therefore the question that whether competition is ultimately beneficial or detrimental to our society triggers a series of reflection. In my opinion, there are both beneficial and detrimental facets of competition, but they are not strictly distinct from each other. Moreover, under certain circumstance, they can even transform into one another.

To begin with, competition either between persons or between countries is really effect in stimulating the development of the whole society. It is a simple notion that only with the unceasing challenge from other competitors is a person able to be alert all the time, always be up-to-date to the field he pursues, and make every possible changes in his behaviors to make himself competent comparing with other colleagues. This is just as Darwin pointed out in his evolutionism: only the fittest one can survive from drastic competition. Besides, many revolutionary breakthroughs are due to the benefit brought along by competition. For example, during both World War I and World War II, to compete with enemy states, or in other words to defeat others in order to survive, many countries made great effort in developing advanced (from the view of that time) weapons. At the same time, related techniques involving electronics, mechanics, biology, aeronautics and many other scientific fields were experienced a remarkable development. After the war, during the recovery of global economy, scientists and engineers made full use of these techniques formerly used for military to manufacturing and people’s daily consumptions. Thanks to these new techniques, or to exactly put it: the beneficial side of competition, our society saw a greater development than ever before.

On the other hand, as we know that each paper has two sides, competition is not always friendly to us, and contrarily it sometimes gives our society negative influence. Let us take an extreme situation for example: when competition is overemphasized by a certain society, many social problems will emerge from the seemingly disimpassioned social atmosphere. After a person has tried all he can but also does not have the opportunity to survive, in extreme despair, he may choose some ways else either to fulfill his instinctive desire to survive, saying committing a crime, or to make up his mind to commit suicide. Both these two choices can have detrimental effect both to himself, to his friends and relatives, and most important, to our society because he fails to be responsible for this society. However, actually we are not taking so stressful competition, but person who is vulnerable in spirit is apt to be underdog in our society. Moreover, also take wars for instances, this kind of international competition between countries brings overwhelming destructions to this planet, the losing of tens of millions of lives, the destroying of vast amount of human civilization, and even the shadow hiding deeply in people’s hearts after many decades of the war.

Having recognized both the advantages and disadvantages of competition, we must also see the possibilities of the transformation of these two. As mentioned above, under ruthless competition, people will more or less have some spiritual stresses, but for some optimists they have the ability to convert this stress into the drive to have more succeeds in their future career. Many international well-known enterprises has experienced this transformation and finally managed to their great achievements, saying Nintendo in Japan, or Hyundai in R. O. Korea.

To sum up, confronting with inescapable competition, what we can do is to make it clear both the beneficial and detrimental facets of competition. However, only this is far more than enough, to be better competent to survive in this fast changing society, we must also have strong will to outlive the strikes both from failures and frustration given by increasingly drastic competition for the sake of our responsibility for this society. What is more, it is equally important to learn how to transform these frustration and depression into the impetus to encourage us to achieve more in our career, which is also beneficial to the whole society.

It is hasty to say whether competition is more merited' than detrimental to our society. Only through competing, the one who is most eligible has developed, and then contribute all his or her merits to various hands of our lives. If someone thinks it is unique result of competition, he or she will find that there are also several disadvantages that cannot be overcome through competing. How do we deal with the difficult problem?

On one hand, through competing can we be instigated and learn more knowledge and technology actively in our daily life. With the development of economy, people need to know digest and assimilate different ones from kinds of subjects, so more and more people participate the make-up courses in their free time. People seem prefer touch new information so that they may make use of these contents to win the competition game, such as obtain satisfied position, acquire innumerous fortune, and so forth. And then competition is a feasible way to decline inferior commodities and wash out incompetent companies, so as to improve the quality of most business.
In conclusion, it is true that we always harvest what we want and briny every positive factor into play, we oblige' to answer a question we could not solve in along run, that is, why sometimes the efficiency of work is so low that we try to suspect whether competition mechanism is beneficial for us or not?

On the other hand, to analysis this problem and find the cause, a number of people from distinct countries of the world trend to consider the question from the other view. If a competition is fraught with adulteration and illegality, it will deteriorate normal order of society rather than advance and flourish. As we know, fair insure the progress of economy orderly, and it is the most significant factor of competition. If some people succeeded in a illegal approach and were increased by adulterating, other people will feel too morose to lose their hearts and never dedicate their energy to the society. If the false continued, more people will give up make effort to choose illegitimated mean to reach their goals.

It is complicated and terrible to tell the milieu, if all of us did not cope with the hard nut in a short while. Believing that, everyone knows that “nothing is fixed, everything is relative." Almost each part of one thing always influence with each other, so we have no reason to overlook the reverse of prosperity. Perhaps illicit competition will waste endless money, even exhaust our limited resources.

All in all, although a competition is followed with a few of shortcomings and improving, I still would like to think it will produce marvelous values and replace the old ones with the more proper. No matter how we plan to design the blueprint of our circumstance, people from distinguished class will deal with difficulties they face, if only everyone treats life, particularly ourselves more objectively. Wish you agreed with me.
