坐在商学院的会议室，一个崭新的环境，想起一年来申请走过的路，想起还有很多朋友也
在奋斗，打开屏幕把商学院申请和考GMAT的经验总结了一下，希望可以给大家带来一些帮助。
本文是写给申请目标是20-30名商学院MBA录取, 30-70名全额奖学金的工作或实习时间相对较
短的朋友。对我们当前没有强大收入基础的申请者来说，奖学金是影响申请策略和选校的关
键因素，没有奖，录取了很多时候也是不能去，因此我们要尽力争取全额或全学费的奖学金。

1. Essay

不同商学院对都有不同的Essay题目要求，
不同的学校需要的数量不一样，顶级学校需要七八篇，跟着的学校则需三到五篇，其中最主要
的是目的型和事例型两种Essay，典型的目的类题目包括Why MBA, Why our school, Career
goal等。

(1)目的类: 写目的类的Essay的时候需要体现出比较强烈和符合逻辑的求学动机, 需要尽量体现出
团队背景，领导力和商业嗅觉。由于我是技术类出身，这里主要说说技术类背景申请者的文章
撰写，但是思想是可以融会到其他领域的朋友的申请。

首先第一点是要展现出过去对部门，开发团体的有效的领导，这点一般大家都会强调的。
需要指出的是另一点，以前学习工作与将来发展跟商业发展的联系。与新的商务技术有联系
的背景需要强调，举些例子，如果是计算机背景的，可以提ERP, CRM, 数据仓库，人工智能的
商务应用等，从事或学习统计和数学类的可以联系金融数量模型，数据挖掘，人工神经网络的
市场预测等，学习网络与通信类的，可以提无线商务，宽带商务等。
在商学院比较注重Diversity，虽然与你竞争的有很多经验丰富的商务咨询和会计市场等传统商
业背景的申请者，可是他们同一类人数多，而且之间不容易突出优势，但是如果你可以有比较特
殊而有创新，特别是有时代性的应用性商务背景，即使经验不长，也可以以弱胜强，占得位置。
商学院申请者需要针对录取委员会的口味对之前工作或实习的部门做描述。在先进高新特殊
的行业中的申请者容易受青睐，由于它可以吸引录取委员的新奇和注意，在几年前互联网时代，
互联网工作者可以在申请中脱颖而出，现在虽然已经时势变了，但是又有新的领域，这个思想是
一样的，如果工作中可以有涉及高新商务应用的需要重点提。

另外有两点可以弥补申请者工作时间不够的不足，而这两点都是基于如何可以在更短时间内
积累商务经验和知识的思想上的，

1. 公司或部门短期快速成长，见证规模壮大，在动态，快速发展或是正在革命中的公司学到的
更多更快
2. 多职能类型参与，与多个职能部门有联系的工作

关键：领导力和成为这个高新行业商业领袖的抱负要贯穿文章始终。

(2)事例类: 事例型的Essay有三类题目最常见也最重要：领导能力，团队能力，解决困难能力的例子。
其中组织，协调和决策三个行为最有说服力，
有效的例子包括 1.团队内部观念，等级的落差以及纠纷的协调 2.对多项计划的综合(取优）
决策 3. 复杂任务和时间紧迫情况的安排 4. 根据人员能力，经验，特性工作分配 5. 说服类
(1)对上司/决策团 (2)客户 6. 对现实工作难题的分析解决（理清思路，计划制定，分步解决，
先主后次，多方利益）
中心思想是体现出 1.人性的体谅 2.全局的考虑 3.意见的尊重 4.决策的力度
可以雕凿好一两个有力例子根据不同题目定制。

2. 奖学金申请

MBA的奖学金主要是以Scholarship/Fellowship和Assistantship两种形式
Assistantship是有偿服务的形式的经济资助，包括有Research Assistant和Teaching
Assistant 两种工作，通常是每星期工作10小时(也有的学校是提供比较不常见的每星期20小时
的工作，比如UTDallas，不过奖学金额度更高），学校给予每年免学费的奖学金再加五到六千的
报酬及福利。这里需要提出的是，如果曾经在美国研究生院担任过RA或者TA的工作，一定要强调
引起录取委员的注意。而Scholarship是大部分学校都会给予一定的被录取学生的，或多或少。
而这其中公立学校比较多提供Assistantship，私立比较多提供Scholarship/Fellowship。

我这里主要列出一些在申请实践和网络讨论中总结到的一些比较慷慨给予奖学金的学校。

选校时，Business Week的学校Profile非常有用，一定要仔细研究，需要注意的指标包括
Program的成立时间，Program大小，学生数目，奖学金比例，工作经验时间段分布，Gmat分
数分布，录取以及面试的比例，就业起薪，就业比例，就业行业，进场企业，雇主评价，
录取委员会和Director的联系方式等。

3. Gmat

记得以前一个朋友对我说，在长期学习和思考的过程中，有一个时刻叫顿悟，在之前一直都
没有感觉，把握不了规律，在那一刻突然就通了。
而我的顿悟，竟然出现在考场上。那一天坐在电脑前，做题，突然发现原来考的就是这些了
，单题，数学原来都是在这些范围里, 规律成为了感觉，由于一直都不喜欢做模拟题，在考
场上做了唯一一次的整份卷子，以前考GRE也是，可能因为比较懒吧，但是在那一刻发现原来
做模拟题可以让你更加全面得掌握整个考试的规律的。而这个顿悟，是在训练和积累的基础
上才会发生，希望在备考奋战中的朋友们，也能体会这种顿悟。

我的考试准备时间是一个月，由于考试已经是很久前的事情了，我现在只把记得的一些方法
和材料提一下。

逻辑：
讲义教材：新东方的逻辑教程，狒狒的逻辑讲义
逻辑题的关键是分清什么是因与什么是果（最重要），然后按照固定的几个方向(参考狒狒
讲义）来支持驳斥。
练习题：PP3

数学
讲义教材：新东方数学难题详解，数学用语列表，当月机经
先把词汇掌握，然后看难题详解里面有了各种难题的集合和分类讲解，每题看解答之前先自
己做一遍（考试一般比之简单），
然后就看机经题目，把大家觉得难的机经做了，上考场会得心应手的感觉。另外在考场上不
需要赶时间，由于当时考我是第一次做整个题目，时间都不知道把握，赶赶的做完看到原来
还有很多时间，后来的时间都在干坐. Gmat的数学讲求细心，快便容易错了，时间很够的。

阅读
讲义教材: 杨鹏的阅读讲义, GMAT阅读心法
全文主题句和段落中心思想是最需要把握的。
阅读我是没有什么技巧的，除了明显的比如强对比取非，大小列举，强转折等一些各大教材
都会强调的出题点外，主要都是全部通读做题。
练习题：PP3

语法
讲义教材: The Elements of Style, OG,
白勇GMAT语法笔记，石林GMAT语法笔记，以及网上的笔记总结
先把Elements of Style看一遍对美国文书规则有个认识，然后把白勇石林以及网上的语法
笔记消化一下，考点基本上都是包含在里面了。然后就是做OG，在看题目时要先自己想一下
再看答案和解释，基本上做一半就可以有感觉了。
练习题: OG

写作
讲义教材: 网上的Arguement的驳斥点，模板总结，GMAT写作观点总结
其实就是模板了，把Arguement和Issue各准备了比较长的几个模板，记忆一下，
再记住arguement驳斥的主要的入手点，根据分类考题总结一些支持，反对，列举的用语和
通用观点，考试时，模板一上，再把观点翻来正去的说几遍，就成文了。

其实还有一些资料很有用的，只是时间长了，我列了印象最深，最有帮助的一些，
我认为网上的资料其实已经很足够了，如果把大家推荐的资料吃透，不需要专门买书本。
推荐mba8.com的资料下载区，很全的，以上说的资料都有，还有很多其他的好材料，
他们的机经总结也是很全，很感谢他们对我们备考者的帮助。而训练题目最好的就是pp3和
OG了。

meaningful definition.
Very simply put, a leader is interpreted as someone who sets direction in an
effort and influences people to follow that direction.

After spending a semester reviewing leadership theories, I see leadership as a
building relationships, fostering growth and change,
and working for agreed upon, common goals.  A leader needs to possess strong
communication and problem solving skills.
They should also be trustworthy and have the respect of their followers.

These experiences have also instilled characteristics in me that will allow me
to become a successful leader.
I believe that excellent leaders are knowledgeable, compassionate and flexible
team players.
My experience in such compassionate communities will allow me to create and
maintain a strong and cohesive unit to work toward our ultimate team objectives.

After a lot of debate on the best schedule, we came up with an extremely robust
