Some people say that only people that earn a lot of money are successful. In my opinion, I hold different view that success cannot be evaluated by the amount of money. There are many examples around us to illustrate it. In the following, I would like to justify my standpoint by two stories.
The first story is about a famous film star in China that I do not want to tell her name. She is well known for her achievements in the sphere of entertainment and of course has lots of money. She has been regarded as a success for a long time until we found that she had escaped paying for so many taxes. Her fame collapsed so suddenly that she became a criminal from a success. Admittedly, there are many a wealthy people earning their money on the basis of hard work and they are worthy of being called success. However, some rich people get their money by secret or illegal way. In the sense, they still have long distance from a success.
On the other side, there exist some common people that may have not much money. Nevertheless, they live their life excellently and their outstanding characteristic make them respected by others. I used to hear such a story about a disabled person. Confronted with the inequality created by the God, she choose face it optimistic rather than desperately. Having overcome difficulties that are beyond others' imagination, she became a good writer. In addition, her stories have provided much courage to people in front of difficulties. Although she has not lots of money, there is no doubt that she is a success and worth admiration of everyone.
In all, it is not reasonable to evaluate success just according to money. Success is a complex concept that needs to be analyzed concretely.
