我同学的PS,我看了觉得忒长.大家帮忙看看.给点意见,谢谢谢谢
Statement of purpose
Introduction
My interesting was originated from my father who graduated from Tsinghua University and my mother who graduated from Zhejiang University. They gave me the initial awareness of research. During the childhood, I got fun from building airplane and ship models by hand and gaining basic electric circuit. During middle school, I was trapped in loving physics and mathematics, understanding the basic principles of natural world. Now, the excitement of setting a goal and solving it by new scientific techniques and innovations with a single-minded devotion has fascinated me all along and has led me to choose Electrics and Computer Engineering as my mission.
Plans for graduate studies
My interests primarily include wireless network, multimedia communication, and FPGA and MCU applications. In particular the topic [wireless mobile Ad hoc network] has evinced teen interest and thoroughly fascinated me. I believe graduate studies would provide me with a better understanding of these topics enabling me to contribute immensely to this arena.
Academic background
When I am sophomore, I won a good choice to enter in Innovation Laboratory when other students only study in classroom. It has changed my academic life deeply. In the laboratory, I touched the FPGA, MCU, PCB design, etc, from the work of “Temperature auto-control system based on PID algorithm”, “Voice store System”, etc. I spend almost all time in laboratory. FPGA and MCU became my most master skills. At junior, I organized two other friends join the National Electronics Competition and won the second-class award in Zhejiang Section because of finishing the design and development of work of “Digital logic store oscillograph” in four days.
My baccalaureate thesis is “Research and Design of Telecommunication Interface”. In my project, I suggested my advisor to use VerilogHDL describe the functions and behaviors of the interface protocols, because FPGA can make the interface protocols flexible and realize the purpose of System on a Programmable Chip (SoPC). My advisor agreed with me and, at the end, I finished the work successfully and applied National Invention Patent as the first author. Furthermore, the thesis was selected as excellent baccalaureate thesis (less than 3% in College). The project guided me into the amazing field of realizing hardware algorithm with computer-aid design and assembles complex functions in a single chip.
The undergraduate curriculum and research work exposed me to a wide gamut of subjects, both in and outside the field of Electrics and Computer Engineering. They together have provided me with a solid footing in the theoretical concepts of Electrics and Computer Engineering and have prepared me for my ambition in future research. When I graduated, I was honored the Excellent Graduate in Zhejiang Province (less than 3% in University) due to the high cumulative GPA (5th in College), professional works and public activities.
Because of my excellent performance in the baccalaureate study, I was admitted to Province Key Lab. for my master’s study, where I delve further into the realm of communication system as my specialty. In the Lab., I am responsible for and participate in some projects. These projects are mainly about wireless communication and multimedia communication. I learned to effectively evaluate algorithm and analyze data with MATLAB, design and evaluate network protocol with NS2(Network Simulate), analyze requirements with object orient analysis and design, arrange tasks follow software engineering schemes, realize functions with Embedded System and FPGA, and writing proficient papers. These projects include ““MANET(Mobile Ad hoc Network) routing algorithm and QoS support based on mobile velocity prediction”, “Wireless Multimedia Communication for villa or small area”, etc. One of researches results published in 7th International Conference on Signal Processing Proceedings gave me a face-to-face chance to communicate with other professors in conference.
My master thesis is “MANET(Mobile Ad hoc Network) routing algorithm and QoS support based on mobile velocity prediction”, I find the mobile velocity is a very important parameter for MANET to create, discover, maintain, and remove routing. I modify the codes of NODE.{h, cc}, AODV.{h, cc}, MAC802.11.{h, cc}, etc. in NS2 under Red Hat Linux 9.0 to observe the performance under the mobile velocity prediction. In this process, I know C++, OTCL, Shell program, gnuplot, gawk, and so forth in advance.
I was awarded first-class Excellent Scholarship during master’s studying every year, because my overall GPA is 89.2/100(major GPA is 93.0/100), other honors and awards in professional work.
Activities beyond academic
Electronic Institute in my university is a huge organization grouped by those who interesting in electrics and computer technology. I join in once I entering the university. In institute, we organized many activities and I make many friends. One year later, I was selected as president of the Institute due to the active performance and good leadership.
I was ever invited as the director for students who preparing electrics training course. Teaching them the knowledge and skills in electric and computer system design. I like to teach others what I know, sharing knowledge is happy for me. From the talking, I also can learn much innovation idea from those guys. I was also invited to teach basic computer knowledge to social people. Sharing my knowledge with others makes me very happy.
My traits
I am hardworking, scrupulous and sincere by nature with a strong penchant for learning. I derive satisfaction from dedicated work and filmy believe that dedication, deference and diligence are surest means of reaping the benefits. I am clam and good –humored by nature with abilities to work Individually as well as in a group. Being a cheerful person with an optimistic outlook confront success and failure with equanimity, these qualities have kept me in a good stead all along and am sure will continue to abide by me.
My goals
I am fiercely determined to contribute significantly to the field of my study. I am fairly convinced that my pursuing Ph.D. at your esteemed university will give me in-depth knowledge of this field and make me competent for the task at hand. I sincerely believe that this is going to help me in endeavor towards achieving self-actualization and ultimate goal of every human being useful to fellow human being and future generations even in an infinitesimally small way and the satisfaction of helping them to lead a better life. |
