Chicheng Zhang is an assistant professor at the computer science department at University of Arizona starting from Fall 2019. Before joining University of Arizona, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Microsoft Research New York City. He received his PhD from University of California San Diego in 2017, and received his bachelors from Peking University in 2012. His main research interests lie in the theory and the practice of interactive machine learning, where learning algorithms gets involved in data collection process to achieve better data-efficiency. Examples of interactive learning include and are not limited to active learning, online learning with partial feedback, imitation learning. His research works have been published in many top-tier machine learning venues, including ICML, COLT and NeurIPS. More information can be found at https://zcc1307.github.io/

University of Arizona Computer Science ranks #43 in the US News best computer science graduate schools. Currently, the department has a ratio of only 2 Ph.D. students to 1 faculty member, and a total tenure-track faculty size of 20. All Ph.D. students in the department are fully funded.
