Do most people really want to attain certainty rather than knowledge? I believe so. However, I think not only subjective reasons as the arguer claims but also objective reasons would lead us to prefer certainty.

First, the disadvantages of characteristic we have play an important role while we make our decision between knowledge and certainty. To gain knowledge means we should at first be active and creative so that originations could be derived from the information we collect, then we could find certainty basing on this information. However, in this case, a question came out that we must be fully responsible for our behavior, due to that it is your own fruit that leads you this way. To the contrary, there is no such risk when other people tell you the certainty. Our minds would not be open since every result have already been gained by former people and we just use the fruit. When there is a fault due to this certainty, we may find ourselves a decent reason to get rid of most of responsibilities. And that's why we are more likely to choose certainty rather than knowledge from the subjective angle.

Second, when we look into ourselves to find the subjective reasons, the importance of objective ones in this issue should not be neglected. In specific situations there might be not such requirement for a person to attain knowledge. For example, when consumers have bought a TV set, the primary thing to do is to make sure how to turn on and turn off, or how to operate the remote control. Anything beyond that, such as acquiring the principle of how electron beams make an image or what quantum mechanics functions in TV would be thought abnormal and a waste of time and energy. Even the TV engineers who is the very people that should master electronics don’t have to understand what is the quantum mechanics, it is quite enough for them to use the result of physics scientists’ research, which are also certainties, to solve the problems they confront in the process of design or manufacture. Maybe this illustration only represents one aspects of the situation, but it tells us that under some circumstances, our demand for certainty is beyond our own control: not only can we choose the abstruse knowledge for the purpose of just operating TV set but also it is weird for a TV engineer to be willing to acquire quantum mechanics when he only needs to know the certainty of that principle. What we want to attain has long been made before we become aware of it, we just experience the process.

In sum, as the reasons and example mentioned above, I believe both objective and subjective aspects lay an important influence upon our requirement of knowledge or certainty. In fact, only by scrutinizing both can we find us an integrated explanation of the complex phenomenon.

1 举例方面，全文就一个例子，是否太单薄了？而且第二个例子在表述时不够简练。（不知是否有例子少的高分作文）

2 内容层次方面，你是先说主观方面不能（或者不愿），再说客观方面不需要。条理是很清楚，但我觉得就象有高手曾指出的那样，一篇好的文章最好要能讲究立意（或者说立足点）。你这篇文章的立意是什么呢？

3 结尾一段好象没有说清自己的观点，没有很好的回应开头。另外你为什么要说 complex呢？你的论述中并没有体现这一点哪。

4 倒数第二段的倒数第二句中：our demand for certainty is beyond our own control: not only can we choose the abstruse knowledge for the purpose of just operating TV set but also it is weird。。。
是什么意思呢？没太懂。
