In the age of television, reading books is not as important as it once was. People can learn

as much by watching television as they can by reading books.

In modern times, as a product of social civilization, TV is becoming more and more important

in personal's life. Many people hold the views that reading books is not as important as it

once was and they can learn more by watching TV, however, in my opinion, reading books is

always important in any time , while TV just plays a role of  supplement to enrich people's

life.

From ancient times to now, books are always a major way to acquire the knowledge, which have

many good virtues that TV does not have. For one thing, as a student, you can learn maths,

verbal and natural science almost from books wherever you are in an elementary school or

college. This character can never be taken place by anything; for another thing, books can

record of history, science and all kinds of human treasures thousands of years ago. Just go

to the library to look up whatever you like. It is so convenient! At last, books has an

effect of making people think of the things they read, which is good for people's

imaginations and creativities.

TV is a complementory in our life, admittly, TV is more lively than books, which supplys us

with plenty of visions and sounds and make us easily discriminate the and recognize the

things. For example, in a physics lecture, the professor talks about all kinds of physics

phenomenons and models, because of abstract concepts and complex process, it is diffcult for

us to accept the ideas that professor just expresses them verbally, but it will be perfect

for students to understand them if the professor show these facts with a TV, so we have to

agree that it plays a key role in this process.

Without TV, we can live in a substantial life undoubtedly, unluckily, it is unbelievable to

imagine a life without books. The way of perserving the history is to recount them as

stories, from one generation of the storytellers to another. It is a pathentic things.

In sum, reading books even in the age of television is also as important as it once was,

whose main character in acquiring the knowledge in human life  will never be replaced,

however,we should take TV as a recreation to enrich our life.
