In this argument, the author concludes that in order to maintain the best stuff in Automate, they should double their salaries. He also cites that if they do not follow that piece of advice, they will continue to lose employees in the future. This prediction is based on the fact that Sparks provide workers with more salaries than Automate and that Sparks will stuff their newly built plants. The author suffers from several critical fallacies.

First, the author commits a fallacy of false comparison. The two companies may be different in many aspects and therefore they need different kinds of workers. For example, working in Sparks requires higher skill level and more experience and that the reason why salaries are higher, while Automate is only in need of mechanics and these workers naturally get lower paid. Without consideration of the differences between the two companies, we cannot make any comparison between them.

Second, the author fails to consider other factors that might lead to the same consequence that Automate is losing its employees. For example, workers may be not satisfied with working conditions in this company; or they do not like the company's culture; or they are not sure to have a bright future in this company, ect. Salary, if any, may have some effect on the losing of workers, but it is not the only thing we should consider. Even if Automate rises their salaries, they might still face the sever fact that their workers are leaving.

Third, even if Sparks will open more plants, it is not necessary that they must enroll more workers. For example, they can make use of their own employees in new plants. Even if they need new workers, they might not need workers in Automate. Without consideration of this condition, we cannot draw to the conclusion that Sparks will need more workers and that they will offer job to workers of Automate.

To sum up, the conclusion reached in this argument is invalid and unconvincing. To justify his conclusion, the author should prove that the two companies need the same kind of workers. Besides, to better access this argument, we still need more information concerning that (1)there are no other causes of the losing of employees ; (2)Sprks is sure to offer job to Automates employees;(3)Employees in Automate is bound to work for Sparks due to its higher payment.

"It has come to my attention that Sparks, Inc., the manufacturing company that just moved into our state, is advertising job openings at salaries that are twice as high as those paid to our experienced assembly-line workers. Some of our employees have already left to work for Sparks. In order to keep our best staff, we must pay them salaries equal to those Sparks pays its employees. Otherwise we will continue to lose employees in the future, because Sparks must staff the additional new plants that it plans to build in the state."

I say some words.If not good ,wish your forgiving.
I think Automate should concentrate on how to rise their salaries.The people who have the the best technology should be rised more than others.Assume that,if you are better in your work than your colleagues,but you gain the same salary with them,what would you think?So.I think Automate should inprove its employeers' salaries differently accrding to their contribution to the company.Only though this effective manage,the employeers will be content ,and do not change their job easily.They will believe that the company appreciate their ability,so that they will get more confidence and work happily.The workers who are rised less will compare them own with the experienced and competent workers and find the their shorts and learn from them.It lead to the competition among the empoyeers,and it is no doubted that Automate will get much more benefits
