Issue212 If a goal is worthy, then any means taken to attain it is justifiable.

Confront the statement “if a goal is worthy, then any means taken to attain it is justifiable”. I think we had better know two questions before the discussion. What is a worthy goal? What is justifiable? For instance, there is a man called Tom living near us. His goal is to be a doctor in the future. We know that the doctor is very helpful to most of the people especially in the countryside where the hospital is scare. So we can say that his goal is worthy. From the example, we know that if one’s goal has its own value, we may say that his goal is worthy. And from dictionary, we found that justifiable means to be just, right, or reasonable.

Now let us go back to the speaker’s statement again. I could hardly agree with this opinion. There are many goals in our daily life, and most people usually have a worthy goal. However, it will be helpless for us if we did not think how to achieve it. It will just be good dream which will never become true. We will have a process, if the access to the goal has been found by us, and we will certainly change a lot if the goal is really great just in the process to attain the target. Some of the changes are good, but not all the changes are good. For example, many people have a goal that they want to be a millionaire even trillionaire someday. Of course, it is a worthy goal due to its own value. Therefore some people start to work harder, think more, and learn the better way to get along with others, and so forth. Maybe after 10 years, 20 years or even more time, his goal will become true. What he had earned is not only the money, but also the diligence, the modest manner, the aptitude to learn from others, and the ability to make the people living close to us happier. On the other hand, there are also some people, they steal the money, rob the bank, and crook the company in order to achieve the goal. Maybe they can be a millionaire at last, but they are losing more in the achieving process. Such characters as honest, kind, and sedulity which will play an important role in our life time are disappearing, and he will not have the respect from the others as expected when he accomplishes the goal.

So we should not ignore the connections between the goal and the way to achieve it. Both of them are very essential. Some goal achieving may make us been envious by other people. However, what we need more is to be respect but not envied. Do remember that you should not go for achieving your great dream without a careful thought about the things which you had to lose in the achieving process.
