The most effective way to understand contemporary culture is to analyze the trends of its youth.

I advocate the perspective that to analyze the trends of the youth is considered to be the most effective way to understand contemporary culture.  However, the most effective way does not stand for the most comprehensive way. In addition, what are the adults and the senior's favorites determine the characteristic of the current culture.

To some extent, the fashion among the early lives reflects plenty of features of the modern culture because young men’s behaviors usually reveal the new characteristic of the society. For example, among the teenagers does the fast become popular and this circumstance has been a sign of the increasingly rapid life step. Beside that, foreign pop music’s spreading widely from one teenager to another substantiate the tides of globalization. It is true that not all of these tendencies originate from the young people and they would not have been widespread without the adults. Notwithstanding, we fail to deny that the youth is the principal part in initiating and boarding the new fashion.

Although the new elements in the culture are brought in usually by the youth, the primary components in contemporary culture is supported by the adult and the senior, no matter they are good or bad, advanced or antique. The first reason that the adults and the senior’s behaviors and trends are supposed to be the main body of the culture is that they are chief creator in the society. It is no doubt that adults generate most life substances and social value. Consequently, the social culture does not avoid the impact of adults because the society are created mostly by the adults. Another reason is that adults are the largest group in consumer and their customs of consuming is a significant part of current culture. As major creators, adults have the most income and afford the plenty of consuming. For example, although digital cameras which are new things in the society are popular among the teenagers, most of digital cameras are purchased by adults especially expensive ones. Had it not been for adults, digital life will have been lagged. As a result, adults have great influence in modern culture.

Before I come to the conclusion, I incline to consider such a question what the most important elements in the contemporary culture. Undoubtedly, in modern society, the dominant part in the national culture is traditional culture even if plenty of new fashions have been prevalent in modern society. Therefore, it is necessary to be familiar with traditional culture which is usually cried up by adults and the senior in order to comprehend the current culture exactly. The youth‘s being fond of new fashion does not manifest the real portion of the national culture due to the teens’ requirement of unique individuality. Hence, it is not comprehensive to regard the youth’s culture as the current culture. In contrary, adults and the senior, who have a good number of experiences, have chosen the most appropriate habits and hobbies which are determined by the inherited living customs consist the main body of traditional culture.

In conclusion, it is not accurate to understand the contemporary culture only by analyzing the fashion of the youth for young people’s behavior only reflects the new trend of modern culture. However, the principal part of culture is put up by adults and the senior. The most effective way to understand the contemporary culture is to analyze both the youth’s tendency and the adults’ behavior.

既然你要在effective上面做文章,就不要引入新的概念了,所以你的观点要把说法改一下,就题论题,不要节外生枝呢. 如果你觉得需要从comprehensive的角度来说,就直接说effective 也包括这个角度嘛
