Thanks for the information.
It appears you are required to complete a higher education degree with a minimum duration of 12 months in Canada to be qualified to apply for the open work permit.

An idea came to me in a flash: Would it be possible to commence the MEng program in the winter term, skip the summer term and then resume in the fall term to fulfil the requirement? I notice MEng program homepage remarks that "For immigration purposes, the summer term (May to August) for this program is considered a regularly scheduled break approved by the University. Students should resume full-time studies in September."

安省学费一直都很贵，远超其他省。如果一年一万二，那这个项目早被申请爆了。反正我看了半天，真得被它官网学费的算法弄晕了。。。

你是指一年只读两个学期吗？如果按官网的说法应该就是 summer term 不用读，但最好还是跟小秘确认一下

Given that you intend to complete the program in two terms for minimizing the tuition fees.

1. If you commence the program in September (Fall term) and spend one more term (Winter term) to complete the program, you will fail to meet the requirement of 12-month duration.

2. However, if you commence the program in January (Winter term), skip the Summer term, and spend one more term (Fall term) to complete the program, you will meet the requirement of 12-month duration and be qualified to apply for the open work permit.

I hope this clarifies my thought.

网上看来的消息：有学校跟移民局确认过了，无论你是加速还是延期，一切以学校官方的课程原始设计的长度为准，来确定你的PGWP长度。

渥大学费，我问的结果是 秋 冬 秋 冬:
4 term * $ per term

Thanks for the information. It seems practical to go for the accelerated path to complete the program in TWO regular terms by taking FIVE courses each term.
FYI, the University also replied to me that "Concerning the duration of our programs, normally students finish the program within 2 years or four terms (2 x Fall and 2 x Winter as most students do not take courses within the summer sessions - Maximum of 4 years). Ultimately it depends on the student and course selection so it can vary in terms of length of study from student to student."

楼主大大我还有一个小问题，真的感谢了，就是渥大申请从12月开始review一直到前几天offer来中间没有发邮件来提醒状态update是吗？一直是一样的状态最后直接admitted吗
