156 “Choice is an illusion. In reality, our lives are controlled by the society in which we live.”
分析:  1,性格决定命运
   2,而性格又是在与社会环境的互动下,逐渐形成的,从某种程度上可以说是社会的产物
   3,由上面两个可以推出实际上是我们所处的社会环境决定了我们的命运,生活,而选择只是一种假象而已,因为你做出某种选择是你的性格所决定的~~
注:这里的性格包括了个人的世界观,人生观等.而社会是指我们周围的社会环境,我们的经历,家庭等都属于社会这个大范畴~~


I strongly agree with the assertion that our lives are actually decided by the society in which we live and choice is an illusion. One can not struggle against his fate, which is, in reality, determined by the society of the whole world.

An old saying goes, “The personality determines one's fate”. The personalities influence us when we face a choice which may have a great impact on our lives. When one faces a choice, especially a very important one such as choosing the right university and major after graduating from the senior high school, he may take a lot of things into account, and then make a final decision. And the way he thinks, to some extent, reflects his character. While others may argue that some people struggle against their fates and finally succeed, I have to point out that all these behaviors, in a sense, reflect their personalities. It is because of their undaunted personalities that lead them to struggle against their fates. If we put some timid and flexible persons into their situation, they may choose to remain as the state they are now.

However, one's personality is actually a product of the whole society which is his living environment. People living in the society are having an interaction with it all the time. They, sometimes, have to change themselves to be suited to the society for better lives. For instance, people who were hurt in love affairs wouldn't believe love so firmly as before. Actually, they may doubt at times: is this the true love or does he just dally with me? People who were cheated by their best friends stand to know that the friendship based on the common benefits. It is, to some extent, a protection which helps them avoid being hurt. It is no use to complain with the society all the time, therefore we have to change ourselves to be suited to it, and the society shapes our personalities precisely in that way.

In fact, a result of a choice is already known when one meets it. It is determined by his personality, his thought, his belief which comes into being as he grows up with the interactions to the society. Basically, our lives are controlled by the society. Many great people, such as Abraham Lincoln, the former present of America, and Chairman Mao Zedong, the previous leader of China, are all molted by the social environment they lived in. They gain such great achievement because of the background of the whole society which shaped their personalities. Without the boy who always laughed at Newton at his childhood, he may not be the Issacc Newton as we know. It is possible that Beethoven wouldn't gain such a reputation as one of the greatest musicians of the world if he wasn't born in the music family. However, all these they experienced are part of their society.

Generally speaking, choice is just an illusion which prevents us from the truth. In reality, what decision we will make is destined, for our thoughts come into being as we grow up. It is actually the society we live in controls our lives.
