In the argument, the author concludes that people should choose Adams Realty rather than Fitch Realty if one wants to sell a home. To support this conclusion, the author points out that Adams has 40 real estate agents while Fitch has 15, and Adams earns better revenue than Fitch. In addition, the author cites an example that Fitch helped him sell a house in four 4 months ten years ago, and last year, Adams helped him sell another house just in one month. However, close scrutiny on each of fact reveals that none of them lend reliable support to the conclusion.
Most obviously, the author provides no evidence that Adams sells home faster than Fitch. Analogies draw between the house selling condition in Adams ten years ago and the condition last year in Fitch are high suspect. As time changes, it is possible that the home selling market becomes quite different. Ten years ago, people are not likely to purchase a house for their own, so Fitch needed four months to sell the house. But last year, the demands of house in this city may be extremely large; therefore, Adams sold the author's home just in a month. Besides, the house that the author listed with Adams might be quite different with the one he listed with Fitch. Compared with the later one, perhaps the former was well designed and located at a community with pleasure environment, which made it popular in the home selling market.
Secondly, the author mistakenly equals the total number of the workers and revenue of a firm to its effectiveness. It is true that Adams' income is twice as high as that of Fitch last year; however, Adams almost has twice workers as Fitch has. That is to say, the average revenue of both Adams and Fitch are the same. Adams has no advantages in this aspect.
Moreover, though homes sold by Adams last year is at an average price of $ 168000, which is higher that Fitch’s $ 144000, it does not imply that Adams sells house at a good price all the time. That maybe because Adams and Fitch are agents for different kinds of houses有这样的句式?. It is probable that homes listed with Adams are always suitable for a big family, and those who want to sell small house incline to turn to Fitch. Besides, it is equally possible that it just happened last year that Adams sold homes at a higher price than Fitch did. The situation may be opposite during other years.
In sum, the argument is not persuasive as it stands. Not only does the author fail to take such crucial issues into consideration, but also the example he cites in the analysis lacks credibility. If the argument had included the factors that discussed above, it would have been more convincing.
感觉不错,重要问题都批驳到了,只是觉得第二条这么说‘利润多也许说明他们收费高’可能更好,而且利润和效率没关系的,在有就是开头太长了,如果时间够用这样很好,要是不够,建议改一下摸版
