People today usually ask the question that whether facts in this world are stubborn things, which cannot be altered by people's wishes, inclinations and the dictates of passions. I think different people may have different opinions based on their understanding of this word. As far as I am concerned, I think it is too absolute to say fact can never be altered and under different circumstances there are totally different characters of fact, sometimes stubborn, sometimes changed.

The word, fact, has several meanings which may lead to different conclusions about the question of its attribute, changed or unchanged. First fact means objective information, such as regulation of the nature. Second it means actual and real things, which is usually used in the daily life when some accidents happen. Though there may be several other meanings related to fact, these two meanings can totally manifest distinguished characters of this word to us.

The former represents the objective character of facts, and based on this understanding we can say that facts can never been altered, because they are objective. Here facts are equal to regulation of the nature, no matter in science or humanities. For example, the regulation that development is usually from simple to complexity has never changed for hundreds of thousands of years, whether people like or not, which can be verified by our society's development, from primeval to capitalism, our science and technology development, from abacus to computers, and life development, from single cell life to our human beings. At the same time, some people may ask that there is another example that Copernicus, who cast down the theory of geocentric ordering of the planets, erected the heliocentric theory, which seems changing the “fact”, but this attitude is totally wrong. The ordering of the planets has never changed since the comic appeared and only because people’s wish and inclination of expecting the earth the central of the whole comic leads to the fake fact.

However when we come to the latter meaning, actual and real things, there is another condition coming to us. There are many TV shows, movie stories, novels and so on which tell people a story that, for example, one person had been indicted murdering another people based on many facts found by police and will be killed for his or her misdeed, but his or her friends have the strong passion of not to believe their friend was a murder, so based on their wishes, inclinations that their friend is guiltless, they found the real "facts" and rescue their friend at last time. So under this meaning in our daily lives there are so many things which may be called "fact" can be altered by our wishes, inclinations and passions, because the process of finding real and actual things sometimes influenced by our subjective opinions.

So it is hard to say whether facts are stubborn things or not. It depends on different understanding of this word. If it refers to objective nature regulation it will never change, however if it refers to finding real and actual things, sometimes because of people's wishes, inclinations and passions the "fact" may be changed.

楼主语言上没有什么太大的问题，就是全文的逻辑不好，fact说出了两个意思（姑且这么说），那么应该详细分析这两个意思，什么是object？什么是real fact?但是楼主都没有解释清楚，再改改吧，加油
