------题目------
Scandals—whether in politics, academia, or other areas—can be useful. They focus our attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could.
------正文------
Nowadays, scandals become a hot discussion. Here is a standpoint about it, that is scandals focus our attention on problem in way that no speaker or reformer ever could and can be very useful. I strongly agree with this opinion, however, I believe overmuch attention on scandals is also harmful.

Firstly, scandals are usually useful to help us find and recognize the existing problems and unfair phenomena in many fields. The person in power always try their best the safeguard their prestige when some problems brought by them occur. So they abuse their authority to prevent the public from knowing the problems, only the scandals can reveal these problems without any personal emotion. The Watergate Scandals make us knowing clearly the dishonesty of the president, and somewhat help American elect a more honest president. Assuming that no media report this scandal, the president' dishonesty can not been discovered and he would be still in his position. Moreover people are always interested in famous people' everything, especially the bad ones, they own great enthusiasm to find some ones, so the scandals can draw our attention in ways that no speaker and reformer ever could.

Besides, in some sense, scandals play an important role in supervision of the authorities. If some leader misconduct or even corrupt, the extensive media can soon reported it as a scandals, which make people lose their fames immediately. It takes a long time and much energy for them to regain their fames or they never own the fame again. Lots of people even lose their position because of these. So many person in power will fulfill their responsibility with all strength for fear of reveal of their malfeasance or their corruption. On the contrary, if no media focus on the scandals, the person in power may abuse their power with little scruple and we can not imagine what our society will be.

However, excessive focus on scandals is also harmful. Today, immense medias try their best to collect the so saying 'sandals' to cater the public's interests, most of which are only the personal lives of the famous people and have little related with their works. It is the right for everyone to own his/her personal life and nobody should try the reveal it. At the same time, these kinds of scandals always destroy the fame of the famous people as the real scandals. President Bill Clinton's sexual scandal is a good example, although he has made great contribution to the recovery of the American economy and done many things to maintain the peace of the world, he even won the Nobel Peace Prize. It is just the so saying 'scandals' ruin his fame and his great contribution even are denied by the ordinary people. In my opinion, this is completely his personal life, nobody have right to reveal it and he should been condemned by the morality and the god.

In conclusion, when we realize the importance of the scandals in revealing the problems and the supervision of the authority, we should also be wary of the detriment caused by the excessive focus on it. W must make a balance between them.

Nowadays, scandals become a hot discussion. Here is a standpoint about it, that is scandals focus our attention on problem in way that no speaker or reformer ever could and can be very useful. I strongly agree with this opinion, however, I believe overmuch attention on scandals is also harmful. 论点的提出不是很好,前面是strongly agree,但是however的转折比较强烈,同时一般however后面的才是论述的重点,不妥,不如不要however,在文章末段让一下即可

The Watergate Scandals 用得多的是Watergate cover-upmake us knowing clearly the dishonesty of the president, and somewhat help American elect a more honest president. 丑闻可以发现问题,发现问题可以怎么样?只有发现问题才有可能解决问题,如果在文章中能指出丑闻可以发现问题并促使问题得到解决,这样子会更好

全文没有提及题目所说的“focus our attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could”,个人觉得应该回应一下
