185"Scandals—whether in politics, academia, or other areas—can be useful. They focus our attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could."

提纲是写完整理的。刚开始打提纲来着，结果就把它写下来了。不知道这是好是坏。似乎占用了不少时间，还有很多Topics没看呢！欢迎大家指正。

Outline:
1.丑闻的积极作用: 引起大家对问题的关注，并监督它的公正合理的解决。这方面的例子可以举的很多，比如Watergate Scandal, 中国的孙志刚事件等等；
2.另外一个积极作用就是它还可以使人们思索产生问题的原因，并发现制度中的缺陷予以纠正。
3.丑闻的消极作用：娱乐业的一些明星利用炒作性丑闻等达到一夜成名的目的。破坏了社会风尚，使大众感到厌恶和失望。
4.另一个消极作用就使媒体为了发行量侵入他人隐私。这样使得心理素质不好的人往往落入他们的圈套，疲于应付，最终毁了自己。我用的例子是英格兰前国家队队员保罗•加斯科因。
5.结论是丑闻是一个双刃剑。我们在赞扬它的积极作用时，要提防它的消极影响。

Scandal is a publicized incident that brings about disgrace or offends the moral sensibilities of society. （引自金山词霸美国传统字典）In our daily life, scandals always happen to prominent people who are supposed to stand for the positive image of society. If the disgraceful behavior of these people is brought to the public, it will attract the attention of the people very quickly because it is natural that people are inclined to be attracted by the sensational news. People’s concentration on the problems will force the relevant party to solve the problem in a prudent but timely way. Here, the publicity functions as a monitor of those wrong-doings and its subsequent measures. For example, if a very famous professor is reported to cheat in one of his masterpiece works, of course people would criticize this indecent behavior. Besides they will follow the progress of this scandal and see how it will be settled. In this way, the relevant authority has to deal with it very cautiously and fairly. Or the public will not be satisfied. If this scandal is kept from the public, some dealings under the counter may happen.

Besides monitoring the solution of the scandal, people may wonder how this ungraceful might happen in this circumstance. Besides criticizing the morality of the professor, they may reflect on the loophole in the checking system and probably they will work out some complements to prevent similar things from happening again.

However, we have to see the negative side of scandals. In some places, some stars in entertainment circle use scandal simply to attract the attention of the public in an attempt to get famous overnight. The most rampant way is the sexy scandal with a prominent star. Sometimes they just make up a story themselves and sell it to the media. This practice seriously threatens the moral value of the society, making people disgusted and disappointed at the social moral.

In other places, excessive attention to some public figures who are ill-prepared to the power of publicity may spoil the life and even career of them. Sometimes the media intervene in the private life of the stars in pursuit of sensational headlines and its circulation. The people involved may be irritated by this intervention and react to it improperly. This would again become the headline of the newspaper. A very good example is the former Captain of the English soccer team, Paul Gascoigne whose private life was so exposed to the public that he exhausted himself in fighting with the media, thus spoiled his career completely.

From the discussion above, we can see that scandal is a double-edged blade. It may bring the attention of the public to some problems and help their solution. It may also be used by some speculators to win assets. Sometimes it may even damage the life and career of a promising people. So we should take an objective view of its role. While praising it positive function, we should be cautious against it negative influence.

首先我觉得分成两方面深入的论述丑闻的积极消极影响的方法很好，就你的提纲来看已经分析的很透彻了。

B1首先做出了丑闻的定义。然后提到了我认为很重要的也是被很多人忽略的一点，就是对于丑闻的关注是人们的本性。然后进一步提出了对于问题的监督和解决，很深入。我觉得真正写的时候要注意发现问题和解决问题的衔接上面。因为，毕竟丑闻是不能解决问题的。要合理的导出对于问题的解决这一点是关键。

B2接着论述积极的一面，提出了丑闻警示我们不犯类似错误。这点可以再深入一点，比如说引起大众对于一些道德标准法律法规的重视，或者说给出例子因为某些丑闻而建立了法律法规等等。然后把丑闻的第二个积极作用归结为预防类似事件的发生上面。

B3是某些人如明星不当的利用丑闻来抄作。这里我有一个想法，是否从useful的角度这里可以分一下，前面的是正面的useful，这里可以说是引号的“useful”，是对于某些少数人的useful，而对于整个社会则不是。然后总结为，在这样的情况下实际上丑闻并非有利而是有害。

B4进一步论述消极影响。隐私问题，这个是很多人都提到的问题。你是从个人的角度来谈的，其实也可以进一步扩大到社会的影响，个人建议。

总的来说是很工整而深刻的思考。如果能够把useful再定义一个标准，我觉得就更好了。

B1的例子太多，我就举了个学术的。其它的就没列出来！
今天给别人看了两篇文章，我的注意力还是在语言上。特别是别人的文章总体结构都有，但分段论述有时也感觉有些说不出的缺点时，不知如何评价。看来对逻辑还是要训练啊！向鬼兄学习！btw有I134的链接吗？
