Mental agility and rhetorical skills: mental agility represents the speed of reaction. Rhetorical skills can add force to one’s opinion and make it more impressive. When the teacher put forward a question, the agile students are able to call forth relevant information and their significance very quickly. Students with fine rhetorical skills are able to express their ideas in beautiful and powerful language to impressive the audience.

However, students have to know that sincerity and true conviction to the question they address is indispensable. Sincerity is an attitude that enables the students to treat the problem in a down-to-earth way. He won’t fly too high or resort to some unrealistic means to do it. Conviction means the true belief in something. Take writing GRE essay as an example, even if one is proficient in English, he won’t be able to write a fine essay if he does not understand the issue thoroughly. He won’t be able to make logical analysis of the relevant aspects.

对于题目我是这么理解的
首先，就像你B1的论证那样mental agility and rhetorical skill 是不可缺少的
然后，更重要的是要有sincerity and the true conviction of their own beliefs，我觉得这个是题目的重点，应该多论述一点，因为题目用了“must”
而且，我觉得这个问题是在说即使有了聪明才智如果没有一个正确信念和准则的话是不行的，比如说本来可能因为信念不当可以成为大圣贤的人成为了大恶之徒，但他同样具备智慧。或者可以这么看，没有坚定的信念的话会坚持不住，会江郎才尽，会泯然众人矣，聪明不能带来成功，坚持努力才可以。
