------正文------
Is the real value of a civilization reflect not in its scientific accomplishments but in its artistic creations? The speaker thinks so, However, I generally disagree with this statement, as it is common for human beings that both the development of the society depends not only on its art but its scientific. Therefore, I support that the true value of any civilization is reflected both in its artistic creations and in its scientific accomplishments.
The first reason that I generally disagree with the statement is that the true value of any civilization relies on its artistic creations. As it is well known that there are four civilizations all over the world. Take China as an example, the great position is asserted by all over the world by the excellent arts include literature, etching, and so on. In addition, inspecting any civilization, you will notice easily that there exist glorious arts, such as ancient India. Therefore, the true of a civilization is reflected in it artistic inventions.
The second reason that I fundamental disagree with the statement has to do with that the true value of a civilization can also be reflected in its scientific accomplishments, and only by it scientific, can it last a long period. On one hand, whether in ancient or modern world, human being depends on the basic skills such as getting the wild animals, acquire the heat and so on, to survive and just by this, the civilization can come out. It is illustrated by the example the civilization is asserted by inventing the exploration, paper and compass in China. On the other hand, if these inventions have been invented in China, maybe this civilization has become extinct or even never exists. A people may die out because it has not the capacity to survive, so it will never produce a civilization.
The third reason is that if it is correct, it will lead to many wore phenomena. Now, every people expect to develop a civilization of it’s own. So the statement will cause that people focus mostly on the improvement of its artistic, while overlook its scientific. In fact, the scientific has contributed much to the development of our society, for example, the computer has made it is efficient to compute and deal with complex questions, and it is convenient to communicate with each other via the Internet, moreover, the operating system developed by Bill Gates has helped people in many aspects, such as life, study and work. But all of us concede the statement is completely correct, it will necessarily set an obstacle to the development of our society, and finally undermine the strength of human being.
In sum, as it is demonstrated by these, the true value of a civilization is reflected in its artistic creations and in its scientific inventions. Therefore, we should focus on development of the art in order to become high in spirit and have the passion to devote ourselves to the society, at the same time, scientific should also be emphasized to invent the advanced and efficient products and high technology, only in this way, the bright future will arrive.
