With the importance of video cameras increasing, someone believes that they have become a more significant form of documentation than written records, and even replace the latter. However, the importance and the meaning of traditional recording measures to humans should not be denied, because some of their advantages cannot be substituted.

Admittedly, video camera brings immediate and accurate information to our lives as soon as possible. Video records have the characteristic of fast speed and real visibility. Nowadays, the events, such as president elections, environmental disasters, or even furious wars, can be known by people at the other side of the earth nearly at the same time, which people in the past could not even imagine. Moreover, with the development and improvement of technology, it is much easier for ordinary people to operate a video camera, whose usage might only belong to technicians or camera experts several decades ago. So video camera have stepped into people' family lives and recorded interesting events and valuable time to the whole family. Therefore, video camera enriches people’s lives.

In addition, the convincing and accurate traits of video camera do help to settle some dilemma or disorder. For example, in a football game or a tennis play, referees can use the pictures or images recorded by video cameras to judge whether the players have commit fouls or whether the tennis ball fall down out of edge lines of the court. If just depending on eyes of referees, it may bring some false decisions, which will lead to undeterminable and unfair results. Another case in point is that video cameras are used for providing contemporary scenes in supermarkets, banks, or buildings. This kind of accurate recording will help people who are in charge of such places to handle with some bothering problems. Thus, to some extent video camera can alleviate people's work.
