In the argument, the arguer contends one should select Adams if he wants to sell home quickly and at a good price in that Adams has more agents and more revenue and higher average home sales than Fitch . Besides, the arguer cites his own experience ten years ago to support the statement.
On the surface, it seems to be sound, however, a close scrutiny of the statement will reveal how fallacious it is.
In the first place, the argument fails to establish the casual relationship between efficiency and the scales of the two firms. There is no evidence to indicate that the scale of a firm is the solely responsible for the effectiveness and efficiency of the firm. As a matter of fact, it is highly possible that the large firm has are less effective than the small one. Meanwhile, the arguer cannot offer sufficient evidence that of Fitch’s working hours are less than those of Adams. Without this information, it is unwarranted to endure the assertion. Also, the fact that the average home sales price of Adams is higher just indicates that the homes that Adams sells are more valuable than Fitch on an average level. The arguer cannot rule out the possibility that the lower price of homes Adams sells are counteracted by the much higher homes. It is precisely the same when it comes to Fitch.这句要说什么意思 Therefore, it is unfair and presumptuous to derive the conclusion.
In the second place, the arguer overlooks some other relevant factors which may be considerably more important in determining the period of selling homes, such as the features of the two homes. The arguer cites his personal experience involving of selling his two homes that Fitch took quite longer time to sell his home ten years ago, compared with Adams last year, is quite not compelling. It is possible that the latter has better quality and much more convenient transportation condition than the former one. Even if the two homes are essential the same, we know that the whole economic situation of the real estate has changed rapidly and tremendously in the past years and Fitch might improve itself in every respects, such as its management, marketing strategies and the quality of his staff, thus more competitive than Adams. In addition, the argument bases the arguer’s personal experience t, which is not sufficiently enough to represent the all the customers of the two firms.
Last but not the least, the arguer makes a hasty generalization with recommendation that Adams would sell homes quickly and at a good price, which is unconvincing. Conceded Assuming that, Adams has better reputation and efficiency, it is arbitrary to make the conclusion that it will sale the home at a good price, although Adams may sell the house quickly. After all, besides the property of the homes, there are many factors may influence the price of a house, such as the market condition, and the buyer's taste, etc besides Adams and Fitch, there may be some other estate companies to be concerned with by people
In conclusion, the argument is logically flawed and therefore unconvincing as it stands. To make the argument more persuasive, the arguer should provide more clear evidence to ensure that Adams is more effective than Fitch in selling homes, and that the disparity in home sales and sales price is attributable to that difference. Also the arguer should provide more information about his or her two homes and make out set up the casual relationship between selling of home and the real estate agent.
