59．Too much emphasis is placed on role models. Instead of copying others, people should learn to think and act independently and thus make the choices that are best for them

I fundamentally agree with the author’s claim insofar on the perspective that we should encourage people to think and act independently and make the choices that are best for them. However, we should not ignore the positive function of copying others especially the role models impelling and overlooking the development of the society.

Consider first with the positive aspect of people’s independent thinking for making the best choice for themselves. It can be said that the history of the human beings is built on the ceaseless pursuing for the satisfaction both on the spirit and substance. The independent think can encourage people not to a bigot without distinguishing the validity. And pursing the best choice makes people establish specific aim and motivation with their own. There are so many excellent objects, firstly considered as crazing and absurd, makes important role on the development of the human being’s history, just like the sun-center theory, without which we may be still immersed in the fatuous with the earth-center theory, let alone about exploring the outer space. Moreover, some outstanding machines which make people’s life more convenient are always invented by inventors for example with the great inventor, Edison; he devoted to create more than 100 facilities that make people’s life more comfortable. In a word, it is the human being’s separate desire and independent thinking about the world and humankind ourselves that accelerate the pace of the revolution in society.

Furthermore, some of the role model are impossible for most of people to learn, for that they are considered as the role models in a specific environment or the qualification of themselves are so splendid, it is hard to imagine that a common human will get a blazing accomplishment in music peering with Mozart, or it can so little chance for us to master several languages so au fait as we are young just like some prince and princess who can travel several countries in a short time. So, in this case, it is not a wise choice for us to learn this role models, it is a waste of time and money on them which may even not make any use with the future of our own life, what is worse, it can sometimes disturb our self-confidence if we cannot be awareness of this aspect.

However, we should not make undue freedom on people’s pursue on individual desire without any circumscribe, for that sometimes the demand of people will not be so comply with the society’s, and even sometimes it will make a passive effect and inhibition on the process of the history. And improper thinking will distort people’s intrinsic, rational logic and corrective view with the world and individual value. We do not take no further than the world war, which is accounted for the intense desire just for several limited people and races, another problem that needs to exigent for addressing just like the giaour and theory of doomsday. As these problems may emerge as referred above, it is necessary for the society to conduct the dominant direction of people’s claim and action, which will evolve in a advantageous aspect with the world.

Thus, it is undoubtedly a wise choice for encouraging people to copy with the role models in society, which will make the development of the society in a normal orbit. The role models in our life which is worth for our copying are always these representing of first-class characters we should learn, what is more, they also make a moral circumscribe in people’s subconsciousness, reminding people which is corrective or not, sometimes, learning the roles models can even be advantage for a war. Take the Second World War for example, it was just under the influence of some famous actresses who make the practical hairstyle, cannot the efficiency of the productivity be prompted for most of the women had long hair inconvenient with their work.

In sum, just learning from the role models cannot be enough for not only the people’s growing ,but also the evolution of the society, In a word, we should make a proper balance between these two perspectives and make a good use of them in order to improve the society.
