In my point of view, worthiness of goals should not be considered regardless of the means and methods to accomplish goals and the adverse consequences. Part of the problem lies in defining what is a worthy goal.

第三段，你的主题是实现目的的手段不能超过法律和道德的底线，那么潜台词应该是目的是正当的，手段也要是正当的。所以我说你加个“表面”的有些多余，而且跟第四段重复了。你的第四段才说有些目的是不值得去追求的。  至于那个if elected to office，偶是觉得前面加个动名词being将被动语态明确化，现在想想直接用过去分词也行。

Part of the problem lies in defining what is a worthy goal，这句确实有想下定义的内容，可是我主要是想将worthy goal 分成三类，a（2段）对个人社会的真正有意义的目标 b（3段） 对个人或小团体有意义的目标，但是不择手段对他人有害。c（4 段） 只注重片面利益，实质对己对人都有害的目标

2段写时就有些郁闷，any means展开一些吧这段就收不住了，会和下面的重复。不展开就像你说的，总有疑问。我主要是想先从常理上做个铺垫，即真正有价值的目标，比如接受教育，取得事业成功等等，需要竭尽全力。为下段不能不择手段做铺垫

3段从政治家要权利，商业家要利益，学者要名誉，几方面讨论表面上worthy的目标，因为不择手段的方式，给他人的社会带来了不利影响。主要是说目标算得上worthy,但是手段不justifiable. 医生的例子不恰当
