“Only through mistakes can there be discovery or progress.”

Life is a process of ceaselessly taking mistakes and then improving oneself. At large, I agree with the view of speaker that through mistakes, we can learn a lot, and some discoveries and progress may accomplish. In some ways, Mistakes is not as dangerous as we have considered. To contrary, it can be view as a wealth, when we deal with it in point.

Mistakes can reveal some experiments or lesson that we probably neglect. On the condition when we are successful, involving in happiness brought by success, we may miss some fortunate to summarize ourselves, many of which are beneficial. In fact, when we fail, we become calmer to think of the reasons to cause failures. If one didn’t attain a bad grade, one may not probably check the attitude of studying. If an accident didn’t occur, a driver may not pay more attention to decline the speed or obey the rule of traffic. If a child didn’t fall down, he or she would not know how to walk safer. Sometimes, success could not lead one to a bright future, but mistakes can. I think the way of how Buffett educate his son is a good example. After his graduate from university, he told his son to live by his own hands, not work in his company. On this condition, young people has to leave home and was hired by other companies, earning little money, changing a lot of works and taking many mistakes. Until that time when he encountered all sorts of mistakes and failures, his father came to his house, saying seriously welcome to his company. Young person could not understand why his father made this decision at that time. Buffett told to him that mistakes are just what he wanted. This story convinces us that mistakes can help one grow up. In a word, we need mistakes.  

Additionally, mistakes can tell us whether an assumption would be effective or not. Facing with a question, we may arise many ways to solve it. But which is right, or effective? It is very hard to decide before we challenge it. On the occasion, we can choose one of them to try, rather than compare continually and meaningless, which is more beneficial to find a right way. In general, any assumption only can be proved in practical, otherwise it may be unfeasible entirely, even wrong. Without undergone a long time to try all kinds of materials, even including his friend’s beard, and making mistakes, Edison, the greatest inventor in the world, might mot invent the lamp. If so, our world may remain black in the night. Thus, taking advantage of mistakes, we can attain the goal.

However, mistakes are not necessary case to lead success. If we take mistakes indiscriminately, however much times we repeat a mistake, we could not learn anything but failures once and again. In fact, mistakes must not equal to success or meaningful experiments. As only as we try to think of why we fail and where the mistakes are, success can become near from us gradually. Furthermore, without any idea of feasibility, making a decision uncautiously is unreasonable as well, even is irresponsible. After all, we have no reasons to support those mistakes.

In sum, it is wrong that many people consider mistakes as the promise. What we need to do is to identify mistakes and find the way of changing them.
