"Failure is Mother to Success", it is a lesson people derive from the similar experiences of tens of thousands events and affairs. It is revealing something that are universally acknowledged that we advance through the way of mistakes. While the course of the human beings is a history of making mistakes, then correcting them, and making some other mistakes again and so on, we can only expect that mistakes is helping us achieving more.

Some opponents of the statement above may argue that, there do exist some circumstances that we achieve progress or even success without committing mistakes. For example, when we are trying to prove that the area of two triangles are equal, we can apply many of the existing theorems to carry out the solution and it is probably that we achieve the goal without introducing any mistakes. This is of course right, but there is still a question: how is those theorems being used in this question gained? The answer to which, would disappoint those people mentioned above, is that through mistakes.

Referring to the development of the science, it is always through mistakes that there were discovery or progress. Sometimes by correcting a previous fallacy we achieve the very truth. For example, Aristotle made the false conclusion that a matter that is heavier than another will fall faster, and was later disproved by Galilei, whose experiment showed us that such two matters would fall at a same speed regardless of their relative weight. Other times, we would have experienced a continual process in which we correct some of the mistakes made by past people and thus step a little toward the truth a little for several times before we can finally learn the truth. For example, Copernicus made great progress in the process of correctly viewing the model of the universe by mention that all the planets in the solar turn around the sun. However, he wrongly put the sun as the center of the universe, a view that was corrected later and we now have the right model of the universe. It can be said that, without such mistakes, we may probably live in a world thinking that we are the center of the universe.

Outside science and other fields of research, the same point of view holds true. We may make mistake every day, every hour, even every second. We may lie to our parents, we may bully some of our classmate for trivial things, we may do wrong by imitating the violent action shown on the televisions and we even commit murder. However, after we have committed those mistakes, with help of the family, school and that of the community, we get to learn that being honesty will always be a merit, that we should be tolerant when facing some conflicts with people surrounding us, that crimes is a bid threaten to very stability and prosperity of the home we are living in and finally that people's lives are priceless and if we do harm to these, we will pay the price. As a result of mistakes, we advanced in our moral level and higher behavioral standard which we will conform to. Yes, we just cannot ignore the effect of such mistakes.

As time goes, we keep making mistakes. In the past we have committed, at present we are making, and in the future, we still cannot avoid making mistakes sometimes. It is something that has never changed and will never in the history of human beings, a phenomena that we should not try to defeat it. What really matters is that we realize that we will no doubt make mistakes and more important, take lessons from and make good use of these mistakes, since they are the source of our discovery and progress.
