Video camera , a newly invention with  the highly development of technology, becomes a more and more important assistant in our lives, it is an another choice to record of contemporary life , because of its accurate and convincing recording , some argue that it has become a more important form of documentatino than written records . Is that true? In my opinion , as the forms of documentation,  it is hard to say the video camera is of more importance than written records, both of them are significant , taking their advantages and disadvantages into account , it is necessary to use both of them not only emphasize one .

Actually, what video camera povides us is an accurate and convincing . Our expression ,our action can be shown on it without changes . Compared with written records, the video camera can give us a kind of  vivid and direct imformation , it is possible to know what happened  just through our eyes . Taking a fire emergency for example , the video camera can firthand  show the situation in the fire scene ,  the people who are not  on the scence can know what are going on , what the situation is . But written record is not so direct ,  we can only get the information from the words with out own imagination and judgement . What the situation really are ? Because of the different ability of comprehension , there may be different answers,  and  no one can give an  exact one.  Then , admittedly , the video camera can record more rapidly than writting.  Using video camera , we can act to the emergency at any time to get the informations without missing the firsthand ones , but writing is  harder , it is not as rapid as video camera , we should spent  a quantity of time to write . Finally , in a rapidly developing society , everyone has less leisure time than before, so  it is impossible for us to read books as before . The video camere can provide us informations in a short time.

Nothing in the world is  perfect, so is the camera video . For certain other purpose written record are more suitable than video camera. For example video is of little use to document our subjective mind such as feeling , impressions or reflections of an event or experience , video is of little use to document the statistical or other quantitative information. Returing to the example metioned earlier, It is hard for us to  know the feeling of the firefighter through the video, it is hard for us to  know the exactly number of the firefighter involved .

In sum , when it comes to some purpose , video camera is more suitable to record , but when it comes to other purpose , written documation is more useful.  So it is reasonless to say which is more important , both of them are crucial , it is necessary to make good use of them to keep accurate record of our lives .
