It is often said , especially in the paternalistic families ,that  if you want to be a success, you need to take responsibility for your own. This words connotative indicates the following  contention that if one enough behave himself/herself, he/she will undoubted achieve what he/she pursue. However, I find the forgoing notion exactly oversimplifies the  connection between the devoting effort and receiving turnout, in that, as the topic statement maintains, the conditions in which people find themselves have been largely established long before people become aware of them, and the concept of personal responsibility is much more complicated and unrealistic than is often assumed.

Realize or not, the conditions of us have been largely established  before we completely notice them. The conditions include various aspects like the society consecutively rendering food and clothes to you, the friend or relationship you can make, the knowledge insofar as you can acquire, the available help you can turn to, etc---what one can touch, see even imagine. When the condition shape ourselves in progress, they also confine us the developing space left for ourselves. No matter what a responsible person strike for success, he/she cannot escape the curb of the condition bestriding  to the other riverside,  yet on the contrary, he need the boat to ferry him across the river, or swim across the river by virtue of the swimming skills imparted from the condition. These conditions will not change at our will, for they have largely established before our awareness---the product of the nature evolution.

Moreover, the conditions change as the humanity develop, triggering the various success we can achieve as far as possible. Take the astronautics for instance. In 1960, the celebrated former soviet astronaut ..., accomplish to circulate around the earth for a laps, which may be the possible success even the humanity can achieve.
While as the time ticks away, the conditions endow humanity with higher height of success. After about ten years passes, two American noted astronauts ...... make the meaningful stride onto the moon. The former and the latter are both responsible for themselves, while the conditions they get along with are quite of discrepancy, which determine the degree of success they have respectively accomplished. Probably ... also wish to arrive on the moon in his life, but his responsibility can realize the possibility. Why? The conditions were functioning. As the humanity develops, the contemporary may reach unprecedented height. Therefore, our relationship between of our devoting responsibility and desired result is somewhat influenced by the largely established conditions, and the previous concept of responsibility is in fact not so simple and ideal. The possible success beyond us, highest and lowest, may have determined before we realize.

Nonetheless, from another angle, largely established as the conditions we getting along with, we are still responsible for which level success we will arrive. This is to say our self-responsibility is of vital importance too. For example, two classmates studying the same course from the identical professor, while the final grade may vary considerably, illustrating the disparity of which they grasp the certain knowledge; when these two classmate  enter working society with the only difference between the knowledge of the above course, but this may determine who will become the manager while another only to the ordinary employees. As a result, granted the maximum and minimum success have be tailored ahead of us , the disparity still varies tremendously, indicating that the responsibility for our own is realistic and critical. The incessant stress on the self-responsibility is necessary and to some degree correct.

Imagine that if one was not responsible for themselves, he/she might be only reduced into a beggar at worst, whereas if whole the society emphasized little on self-responsibility , this society would only stand on the quondam place. Therefore, the personal responsibility fails to predict all the matters, it is still realistic for us to strike forward.
